Fascinating one hour tour with a short walk down the pit. Very informative and insightful. Couldn’t fault Richard who was our patient guide (and also a miner) - a real character with a great sense of humour. Loved it. Great cafe too.

Had a fantastic guided tour that lasted for around a hour. The guide answered all our questions and was amazing to hear how the miners extracted the coal. Quite a steep climb on the way out of the mine.
Visited on our 4th wedding anniversary
Rich , our guide, is a Freeminer, and helped us understand how mining has changed little over the years. Really informative and interesting visit which was about 1 hour 15 in total at a cost of £6.50 each
