Over 900 years of history from Norman beginnings to present day. One of only 18 churches in the country to receive 5 stars in the book ' The best 1000 churches in U.K.' The man who started The Priory, Ranulph Flambard, went on to build Durham Cathedral. Saved from destruction during the dissolution by the last Prior, John Draper, the... More

Concerts are truly worth going to. So fitting for the priory. The coffee shop and bookshop are good value and the staff are most helpful.

Away with 3 other couples we visited Christchurch and it's beautiful abbey. A beautiful and tranquil place with lots of interesting things to see. The guide given out by very welcoming volunteers was great to follow. Allow an hour - worth it.Do give a donation too.

A beautiful church set in lovely surroundings. It is the longest parish church in country and well worth a visit.

This Priory should not be missed. Our visit to the Priory was recommended to us by a couple we visited in the UK, and we were not disappointed at all. I emailed the lady who runs the tours and for a donation, she gave us a wonderful personal tour of the Tower, the Priory and the two crypts. The building... More

A most interesting and informative visit. Staff are on hand if you have any questions and guided tours are availble. There is a lot of looking upwards and a crick in the neck is not uncommon. There are regular services and various exhibitions. The whole place works very well and if you happen to be there when there is organ... More

No matter how many times you visit this beautiful church, you will always find something new to discover and learn. Wonderful architecture and a very warm feel to the church. There are always plenty of helpful people to answer questions too. A lovely way to spend an hour.

Because this was a "Twixmas" break this year our visit took place on a Thursday which is a usual day for Organ Recitals. On this occasion we were surprised and delighted to find a... More
