Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Ate here first weekend after lockdown eased. Food and service simply fantastic. Very impressed with social distancing measures taken. Steaks a little pricey, and 15% service charge addition at the end a bit of a shock, which is only reason not 5 stars.

Hi Dave
Thank you very much for your positive feedback and really glad you enjoyed your meal with us.
Apologies about the 15% service charge being added to your bill. It was something we were trialing when we first reopened but we have since taken this off our bills. We hope to see you again soon.

After a rather challenging week we decided to pay a visit to The Somerford Arms.
I cannot stress how fantastic an experience it was!
We were welcomed with warm smiles and an amazing choice of beers to start.
I myself had the beef roast. The beef was absolutely perfectly cooked and was accompanied with a divine array of seasonal vegetables. My personal favourite of the afore mentioned array was the braised cabbage. It complimented the rest of the dish with such finesse I was somewhat dazzled. In my now dumbfounded state I could exist only in the moment after each delectable bite.
My partner had the chicken which much like my dish, could only be described as sensational.
For just over an hour all of our problems melted away in the most perfect fashion.
I cannot thank The Somerford Arms enough!
The only drawback that I can take from this experience is that the bar for the next roast we have has been set remarkably high!
Big well done!!

Beautiful Sunday lunch with friends. The Somerford Arms offers the best Sunday Lunch around so wanted to take some out of town friends here for the afternoon and they were not disappointed.
The food is absolutely delicious, everything cooked perfectly, crispy potatoes and a large selection of gorgeous tasty veg as well which you very rarely see these days! Particularly enjoyed the cauliflower cheese which was delightful!
Wine selection is fantastic, beautiful puddings compliment the meal and just make the whole experience marvellous.
Staff are always incredibly professional, friendly and attentive no matter how busy they are.
A fantastic dining experience from start to finish, easily the best place to eat in Wiltshire, can’t recommend The Somerford Arms highly enough!!
Thank you for a blissful Sunday afternoon!

A really exceptional pub, great atmosphere, great staff, delicious food. We went for Sunday lunch and couldn't have enjoyed it more. The beef was perfect and there were lots of accompanying veggies all done brilliantly. The staff are charming. All in all a great experience.

The waitress was rude and surly, everything was too much trouble and despite ordering the small portion I was charged for the normal portion. The food was served on cold plates so consequently was cold! To add insult to injury a 10% service charge was added to the bill. I didn't make a fuss at the time as I was with elderly friends but will certainly NOT be returning!

We left it a little late to book in and it appeared online that the time we wanted was booked up, yet with a quick phone call the team they managed to get us in. The four of us had mains, which included a delicious pappardelle slow cooked beef ragu pasta dish and lovely traditional fish and chips that came with peas, tartare and a little pot of curry sauce (which our friends loved and gave as the reason for choosing this dish). With our waitress recommending the cookie dough dessert I opted for this and was was not disappointed, is was amazing! As always, the welcome and service from the team, Rachel and Scott was super friendly and attentive. Already looking forward to our next trip to The Somerford Arms.

Even though there are still restrictions due to Covid 19 the guys at the Somerford truly stand out as making the very best from a difficult time.
We enjoyed the whole experience of our visit from the friendly and helpful welcome to the amazing food and service.
They have an excellent menu with something for everyone and all freshly made. Watch out for Fred the owners little white dog as he's a gem.
Well worth a visit.

Sunday Lunch was suggested as a means of dispelling the winter blues (so much rain!!!) We had heard great reviews of The Somerfors Arms and decided to try for ourselves.....we were not disappointed! Of the four of us dinning the favorite choice from the Sunday Lunch Menu was the 3 meat version of a traditional roast, Delicious! It was also very pleasant to hear the friendly chatter around us...it seemed everyone was enjoying themselves, thanks to the friendly efficient staff who made us very welcome.

Although living in the area for many years and having passed it many times this was the first visit. Food was delicious. Service good especially as it was busy with several large (noisy) groups.
Will definitely be back.
Parking at busy times a bit tricky

Even though we aren't local, this is our new favourite local. Everything is impressive. The welcome, the 'Covid booths', the food and the service. Rachel has a fabulous welcoming attitude and an equally impressive sense of humour. We only wish that The Somerford Arms was within walking distance, but then we'd probably never want to leave. We recommend without any reservation.
