A perfect stag do activity. We got to try out the skid pan, 4x4 off road driving and karting which was great value for money. The instructors allowed us to have fun whilst also giving us great advice on how to get the best out of the experience(s). A great start to the weekend and we couldn't stop talking about it!

I did the skid pan course at Castle Combe. It was brilliant - a real adrenaline rush! I had great fun while learning a really useful skill in how to control both a front wheel and rear wheel drive car when it goes into a skid as well as other driving tips. I would recommend that every driver does this course. The instructors where very patient with us and their sense of humour helped to make the experience so enjoyable.
The only pity was that there were no refreshments on site for those taking part and their families who were watching. We were told this in advance so came prepared with our own food and drink but I feel that the company could have made a bit of extra money if there was at least a vending machine.

Great fun had with my teenage daughter learning what to do & what not to do when travelling sideways in a car! First session was for the instructors to assess our abilities at controlling a skid with no instruction. This was followed by a very informative & easy to understand tutorial by the friendly & encouraging instructors. The second session was putting into practice the techniques learnt.
An absolute must for anyone of any ability to improve their & other road users safety.
Highly recommended.
Also noted, COVID 19 measures implemented very reassuringly.

I would highly recommend Drive-Tech having recently visited for a 1-2-1 session on their 4x4 course. The company managed to cater for my last minute request for 4x4 training ahead of a visit to the highlands of Iceland. Andy, the instructor, was fantastic and tailored the session to my upcoming trip giving both theory and practical experience around the onsite 4x4 course. This included fairly extreme hill ascents and descents as well as river crossings...a perfect preparation.

Having experienced a nasty skid in my own car on the road I decided to sign up for this skid pan experience to learn what to do if it happened again. Having read the blurb on the website I decided to take the hit and book a 1 to 1 experience to maximise my time. I also drive a rear wheel drive car so was keen to spend more in their RWD.
I was really apprehensive on arrival but Martin quickly put me at ease. We talked about my real life experience and then developed the skills needed as we went through the session.
I loved that you just got put in the car to drive without any instruction as it allowed Martin to see what my existing skills or lack of them were! He was then able to instruct me to improve my understanding and skills. Also to build my confidence, which had take a bit of a battering!
It was good to drive both RWD and FWD cars to better understand their handling on a slippy surface. I felt like I had plenty of time and my skills were really put to the test on the time trial! Who would have thought I would enjoy deliberately skidding a car in a J turn?!
The whole experience was made by Martin who was an incredible instructor. He was friendly, empathetic and knowledgeable, oh, and patient! I can't thank him enough for such a great experience, which I throughly enjoyed. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this experience, so if you are in two minds about it, don't hesitate, book it!

I haven’t enjoyed myself this much in ages - what a fantastic course! Dave the instructor was excellent, explaining everything and bringing humour to it too.
We were in two groups of three and there are two cars, a front wheel drive and a rear wheel drive. Everyone in each group gets to drive both cars around the skid pan to begin with and then there’s some classroom instruction on how to deal with the different types of skid. You then all go out and put it all into practice. I think everyone had the best fun in the rear wheel drive car with its back end swinging out at every corner and then the challenge was getting the front wheel drive to go round a corner and not straight ahead!The afternoon finishes up with a time trial to which everyone rose to the challenge, some of us getting a bit cocky and completely messing it up but that was part of the fun.
A brilliant, safe environment to learn how to deal with a dangerous real life scenario. I’d say a must for every driver.

Really good time, learnt a lot. The instructors were both great, their level of calm as the cars spin barely under control around them was great.
You get to drive both a front wheel and rear-wheel drive car on a highly slippery surface, first skidding under the control of your own knowledge to see how you would get on, then with some coaching/guidance to teach you to control the skid.
Overall really fun, would highly recommend to someone looking to build some skills.

An absolutely epic time with Rich from Drive-Tech for 1-to-1 skid pan tuition.
Rich exuded knowledge and experience and was an absolutely fantastic tutor.
I have some experience of track driving but this course taught me so much in a controlled and safe environment that will be of huge benefit when I go back on track. Arguably more importantly is I feel that in adverse conditions on the road, I now feel like a safer driver.
By the end, sliding the car felt completely natural and I had one of the best mornings of my life.
A special thank you also to Jayne for her fantastic communication both before, during and after the tuition.
I can’t wait to come back in the spring and try and best my time!

A really fun afternoon at the skid pan. The instructors are great and throw you into the experience & you learn as you go.
Despite being super nervous on arrival I was made to feel at ease because of the relaxed environment.
Pointers were given as we drove the circuit and at the mid point of the experience in the classroom.
Would recommend!

As someone who is petrified of driving in snow and ice due to a very bad experience involving skidding in the past combined with a son who has just passed his driving test, I asked for this experience as a Christmas gift. I was hoping it would teach us both how to control a car in a skid situation. I was petrified when I first sat in the car and was told to drive around the skid pan but, with the careful teaching of Dave and Jim, both my son and I had an absolute blast! I thoroughly enjoyed it and feel that we've both learnt loads - including to never buy a rear wheel drive!!!
