About
Crackshot in Devon has three separate shooting ranges they are a 20 meter air rifle range a rapid fire BB pistol range and the Simway Hunt shooting Simulator. All of this is along side the gun shop and outdoor store and is open near Newton Abbot, with air rifle and pistol ranges and a fantastic store selling guns and outdoor pursuits equipment Shooting is an Olympic sport enjoyed by millions of people worldwide. Soon you will be able to enjoy air rifle and air pistol shooting at Crackshots purpose built centre at Heathfield, Newton Abbot. This exciting new store, opened on the 7th Febuary 2015, will be specialising in retailing outdoor pursuits, bush craft and survival equipment. You will be able to buy all types of sporting guns and choose from one of the largest ranges of air rifles and air pistols in the region. You even get the chance to try an air rifle or pistol before you buy. And if you do buy, you'll get 2 hours complementary shooting on the full 20 meter range. There is a lifetime warranty on air rifles, and there is a huge range of accessories too, as well as a compressor to fill air rifle bottles and an Archery section. The centre has a superb 20 meter air rifle/air pistol range, as well as a Rapid fire BB pistol range. Another attraction is the Simway hunt shooting facility, an amazing shooting simulator. All these facilities are available to hire for all kinds of occasions from teenager birthday parties to corporate and team building events. Training is provided by fully qualified instructors.

In Devon on a few days break and persuaded the much better half that we could pay a visit to Crackshot
I’ve seen the reviews and figured seeing as we’re in the area ……ish, it’d be rude not to,
And it’d be good to see if they’re half as good as people say……..::
Well basically they’re not.
They are SO much better, I’ve never been in a gun shop with so much stock and where every single member of staff is not only friendly but helpful in the extreme
Chaz was the staff member who drew the short straw with us, and by the lord Harry did that fella earn his money, after well over an hour of advice and poking and prodding of nearly every blooming gun in there, off we trot upstairs to the superb indoor range, so that not only could I handle the guns of choice but get the chance to actually put quite a few rounds through them to see how they behave
This is in itself one of the biggest things as a potential buyer, you can read, watch reviews etc, but until you get the chance to pull the trigger and see how it fits and behaves it could be totally the wrong gun
That’s not going to happen here
Chaz was superb, he was fitting scopes swapping mounts all just to ensure I got the best opportunity to see which guns were for me, nothing was a problem in fact short of buying dinner there really wasn’t much more he could of done!
A word of warning though, I went in with a very clear idea of what I wanted and wasn’t to be dissuaded, but lo and behold how wrong was I.
These guys will help you make an informed decision without pushing or looking at their watches every five minutes
My apologies for the long winded review, but I can genuinely not extoll the virtues of this place more!
Make the effort drive, train , bus, hell, walk if you have to, but if you’re looking to invest good money in an air rifle, you need to come here

Travelled down to Crackshot from Taunton to purchase a pistol. I had in mind four options, which was quickly narrowed down to two after I was given the opportunity to 'handle' the guns.
After detailed description and advice and a trial firing, I selected the one I preferred.
I consider myself to be a reasonably seasoned rifle shooter, but was given all the help and (most important) time I needed.
I'm sure I will be back, it's worth the run down the motorway.

Second visit in 2 weeks. My son took up shooting and I decided to go along. Never expected to be any good but enjoyed it so much I bought my own air rifle.

Crackshot is a lovely shop and on the surface polite and helpful staff until u buy a second hand gun from them and every thing changes. Purchased a second hand rifle that lasted just under a month. I enquired if the gun had been checked and was told it had been. Now l am being charged £60 for the manafacturer to put it right. A comment was made that they could sometimes only last 2 weeks. Still in the hands of the trading standards now. Fit for purpose.

Getting beaten by 10 year old son on his first go at shooting!
Very enjoyable especially the rifle range. Pistols are fun and the simulator excellent as a 2 player. Tuition for son got him off to great start so thanks to Tom.

Sat in a coffee shop thinking of something daft to do for my partners upcoming birthday when we spotted a leaflet advertising somewhere we had both never heard of before. Her eyes lit up and she said that she fancied a go at it. We both booked in for the 1.5 hour session. After signing the waiver declaring that she would not shoot the staff (I was fair game) we were led upstairs to the rifle range. She has never even held a gun before, but after a quick instruction on how to load the pellets, she was away. The targets were a very long way away, and she managed to bullseye each one with her first few shots. Huge grin on her face over the next half hour said it all. We then moved to the rapid fire pistol range, where much hilarity followed as the pellets ricocheted in all directions - awesome fun - How fast can you load and fire a magazine? We were like two giggling idiots in there for the next 30 minutes. We then went to the simulator and that was actually very hard work due to the realistic weight of the gun being used. Awesome mornings fun, our instructor was excellent, making sure we understood what to do without hovering over our shoulder, and let us get on with it at our own pace. If there was a downside to this, it has to be that we are now hooked, and its going to cost us a fortune in the coming months and years as we will definitely keep coming back for more. Thanks guys !!

This was bought as a gift for our hubbies. On walking in, there was no welcome greeting, We were told it was for 1 adult, it was booked for 2, announced what we'd paid (this was a gift, stated in an email)
First 2 rounds were good, then the final round was a set of 5 games. One rifle wouldn't synchronise (sorry, it did occasionally, then shot to the left)
Sadly, staff were not interested in correcting this for us, so the lads missed out on their games.
No apology, no effort to put it right, shame, as they actually enjoyed the start of it

We chose this activity because it was a rainy day, however, I would recommend this experience whatever the weather.
Very helpful staff, didn't feel rushed and gave really clear instructions and support. The kids spent half an hour with air pistols and the other half an hour with air rifles. There were unlimited air canisters and BB pellets so the kids really could go for it.
It was an all round success with all my teenagers and good value for money.

Very helpful and friendly staff helped us have a really fun experience, as first time gun users. We booked a 1 hour slot to use the rifles and pistols and wished we had longer. If we ever visit Newton Abbot again we will definitely book an hour or so at Crackshot.

I shoot air rifle from a wheelchair and would like to know if the shooting range is wheelchair accessible?

The range is upstairs, but we have a stair climber that most standard wheel chairs can be attached to, if yours does not fit on the stair climber there is the option of swapping to our wheelchair for access.
