Description:

A unique place in Callander situated in the Loch Lomond & Trossachs...

A unique place in Callander situated in the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park selling over 130 different Scottish Beers by over 30 micro breweries from the Shetlands to the Borders. The largest selection of Scottish Real Ales under one roof. Our passion for Real Ale has long been established at the Lade Inn with our own exclusive house ales, but we wanted to take it one step further and become the central hub for all Scottish Bottled Ales. To make this dream a reality, we converted our old Microbrewery and the Scottish Real Ale Shop opened its doors for the first time in December 2006. We are a one stop shop for Scottish beer, Real Ale Festivals and brewing information; a place where you can purchase that elusive bottle from the Hebrides or that delicious blonde from Islay. We hold a Beer Festival every year and have tastings throughout the summer weekends so you can try before you buy!

As an avid beer fan this seemed a great little diversion! Well worth it. Brilliant selection of Scottish breweries and all reasonably priced. There were free samples to try which is always a bonus! Only comment is that considering I was the only person in the shop and clearly not aware of the breweries the assistant didn't approach to offer... More

Popped in after eating dinner at The Lade Inn which is next door. Very friendly staff, and large selection of real ales from Scottish breweries. Bought a few bottles of the Lade ales after trying some on draught next door.

This shop is not actually in Callander, but outside the village of Kilmahog, not far from a duo of Woollen Mills. We'd read about it on TA so were interested to visit. It sits to the left hand side of the Lade Inn and there is a good car park beside it. Clearly not a place that is open much... More

Thanks for your review we are open every day from 12 to 6 Monday through Saturday and 12:30 to 6 on Sunday. The bell simply allows us to maintain these hours without having a member of staff permanently in the shop. As I am sure you will appreciate the winter months can be quiet and there is no need for... I have visited this shop on several occasions and there is always something new. Bit over priced though. The proprietrix always has something to say.

We have the largest selection of Scottish Real Ales under one roof in the country, so I am delighted you enjoyed visiting us. We introduce new ales as often as we can to excite and interest our customers, which you have recognised. However such a large selection of over 200 real ales from over 40 Microbreweries come at a price.... More

Great place to stop. We rung the bell and as if by magic the shopkeeper appeared! Lots of choice and the lady was really knowledgeable and helpful. We came away with a lovely selection.
