About
A unique place in Callander situated in the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park selling over 130 different Scottish Beers by over 30 micro breweries from the Shetlands to the Borders. The largest selection of Scottish Real Ales under one roof. Our passion for Real Ale has long been established at the Lade Inn with our own exclusive house ales, but we wanted to take it one step further and become the central hub for all Scottish Bottled Ales. To make this dream a reality, we converted our old Microbrewery and the Scottish Real Ale Shop opened its doors for the first time in December 2006. We are a one stop shop for Scottish beer, Real Ale Festivals and brewing information; a place where you can purchase that elusive bottle from the Hebrides or that delicious blonde from Islay. We hold a Beer Festival every year and have tastings throughout the summer weekends so you can try before you buy!

Great service
Mar 2021
Ordered a case of 12 different beers for delivery and am very happy with them, will certainly use this shop again. Hopefully will be able to get in and sample the restaurant on our next visit to Strathyre once lockdown is over!

Great selection
Apr 2020 • Couples
I have now ordered my 5th case from them. Love the selection of dark ales, stouts and porters. It takes about a week from ordering to having it arrive but it's well worth the wait. I have also visited the shop and was overwhelmed by the selection. So many different styles of ale from a large selection of breweries! It was a chilly day when we stopped by so we had a lovely lunch at the Lade Inn and warmed ourselves by the fire. We also tried a few of the ales on tap, which were very nice too. I would highly recommend ordering some great brews or stopping in for a look. You wont leave empty handed.

Worst delivery time ever.

I don't care how good the beer will be, I won't be buying from them again.
I ordered a box of ales on Monday the 27th of July to be delivered to London as a gift and when I checked the tracking on Sunday the 2nd August the latest info said received into Perth van on Saturday the 1st August.
I paid £8.99 for carriage which I was okay with as it will be quite heavy but this service is pathetic, 5 days it has taken from Callander to Perth.
Now saying due on Tuesday, doubt it, if so 8 days in total.
Poor.

Great service!

Fantastic service - managed to source beers that are discontinued now and not available anywhere in Glasgow. Phoned the next day and offered me another 4 at a good price. Arrived beautifully wrapped and very quickly. I will definitely order from them again and would recommend!

Wow!

We visited the shop while on a trip to Scottland. Absolutely amazed by the selection and styles of beers and ales available. I prefer stouts and porters which can be hard to find sometimes and there were so many to choose from. I ended up taking away 8. Scottish brewers brew some really good beers. Highly recommend going to the shop or ordering online. You wont be disappointed.

I've visited a couple of times after noticing the sign on the road. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I'm sure glad we stopped! The shop seems to have every ale from Scotland that comes in a bottle!

It's a sight to behold. I was particularly impressed as a lot of places and supermarkets seem to stock more ipas and golden ales, whereas here there were plenty of stouts and porters on offer as well (my preferred ales)

The shopkeeper knew his stuff, and helped us decide what to try. He was very friendly and welcoming, giving us time to look before chatting with us. I particularly appreciate this as a few smaller shops tend to have staff that are more 'full on' or even pushy. Not the case here :-)

I got a cute coo bottle bag for next time!

I don't know if there are any other shops like this one. I've never come across any so far. It's well worth the visit if you like your ales, and you can always have lunch in the pub to extend your visit and try their own ales from the tap.

100's of fantastic real ales
Dec 2017 • Couples
I'm delighted to route my road trips past this excellent bottled beer shop when ever I'm in Scotland. They have a fantastic selection, 100's of Scottish ales at prices that don't break the bank, and with a friendly service. Even better is the position right next to the cracking 'Lade Inn' a great real ale pub. A destination in it's own right.

My favourite stop

I could go on about the great selection, the reasonable prices and how Rita is an absolute delight to talk to. But I think the fact I stop at this place whenever I am passing speaks for itself.

Amazing selection
Jun 2018 • Couples
We recently had a meal in their beer garden next door so popped in to buy some ales to take home. What a great selection and friendly staff. Nice to support an independent shop rather than buying from the supermarket. We purchased some of their own Waylade which we had sampled in their bar and we picked up a selection of other ales. We will come back.

WRm and welcoming on a dreich day
Jan 2018 • Friends
Stopped here after climbing Ben A’an. 6 of us in the group plus two dogs. We went through to the bar where a fire was roaring away giving the place a rosy welcoming glow. We were give menus and ordered at the bar. I also asked on the off chance that there might be an iPhone charger available. I was told there wasn’t however a member of staff then kindly offered the use of theirs, which was a bonus.
I opted for the homemade pea and ham soup which was delicious and nice and hot, served with a generous helping of butter and a warm roll. The others had burgers, haggis and baguettes. All were nicely presented, hot and tasty. The dogs were provided with water. This was my first visit here but it won’t be my last.
