I had been told of this magical monument by friends, and although I had been to Bude many times before, I had never seen this tourist attraction. I took the small walk up the hill towards Sainsbury’s, and there it was; glistening in the Cornish...More

The weather was a bit questionable today so we were unsure what activities to undertake. We had heard so much about the tunnel, we figured we would head over to bude to check it out. NOT DISSAPOINTED. Has to be in the top three tunnels...More

So lucky to have this tunnel on my doorstep. I have visited on many occasions and I especially enjoy it on a winters day when the wind & rain is lashing down & I can enjoy a leisurely stroll through the tunnel without my French...More

Every time we visit Bude we have to see the tunnel! Our toddler loves running through the tunnel, and best of all...its free! Number one attraction in our eyes.

Bude Tunnel is quite simply a wonder of the modern world. As soon as I first gazed upon this glorious cylindrical masterpiece I knew I had found perfection in tunnel form. For me Bude Tunnel, The A282, and Teeside University are the most poignant examples...More

If you’re visiting Bude and the weather is inclement, then this attraction is well worth a visit. Panoramic views through the arched windows and ample space for even the largest of families. Car park serves the south side so you can go from tunnel to...More

All the tunnels I have been in until now are cast into rock and surrounded by bricks or concrete. Not this tunnel. It has a view along its whole length. Maybe the planners of new railway lines should visit Bude tunnel to gain inspiration and...More

The architectural intricacies of this superb monument are a wonder to behold. The craftsmanship, or is that craftpersonship in our PC world is magnificent. I find it almost impossible to understand how they built it with the primitive tools they had when it was built....More

Can’t believe it’s taken us so long to find the tunnel, it’s incredible! An amazing view of an important local red brick building nearby, handy for supplies for the journey. We could stroll AND do cartwheels right the way through , totally liberating !

It’s very possible it might be busy later in the morning when the gift shop opens but before then it should be relatively quiet.

There are no plans to run guided tours at this time, perhaps something to consider for 2019

Most certainly it is a romantic location, but beware recent reports suggest a couple decided to get divorced whilst in the Tunnel
