About
I create handmade designs from my studio near Bude in Cornwall. I also run workshops to allow you to develop your skills and confidence in print and design. Doing so allows me to pass on traditional print making approaches and to satisfy my need to encourage and develop other people's interest and skills in art and design in general and printing in particular. I love teaching! I trained as a Theatre/ Film Designer and then later spent 15 years teaching in secondary schools where it was magical to inspire my students with a love of creativity and skill based learning. It was over this time that I learnt how to carve and my love affair with printmaking began. It has been an amazing experience to now solely focus on my art and delve deep into my own creativity, coming up for air (and tea) occasionally.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I haven't done a Submerge workshop, but I visited their stall in the NEC on Sunday and they were so lovely and helpful! They have a crazy amount of knowledge about lino-printing and were really supportive in getting me set up to do more lino-printing at home. From what I could see of their taster class, it looked amazing!

This is our second workshop with Hannah. We had a great time creating our own uniquely designed tote bag.
Hannah is great fun and has a wealth of knowledge to share in art and design. Thank you Hannah!

I attended the fabric printing workshop in Bude. This was excellent and provided me with the know-how I need to launch my tshirt printing career. I'd recommend any of the Submerge Art lino-cutting workshops - I previously attended one in Bodmin. I'm now finding it very easy to achieve striking and effective results. So, my advice: sign up, get to it, change your life and change the world!

Thoroughly enjoyable mono print workshop. Hannah was so well organised including gathering lots of beautiful, natural pieces to print. She was inspiring, encouraging and gave us both tons of confidence in the session. The time whizzed by so I would definitely do this again but allow more time.

Hannah is very inclusive and understanding. I took my eldest who will be doing GCSE art, to a lino printing session and Hannah took thim through everything so he understood the processes involved. He created a beautiful lino carving and printed a colourful image from it.
Hannah was so very helpful, informative, and engaging. If you think you might enjoy this kind of thing I recommend you definitely enrol for an afternoon with Hannah.

Thoroughly enjoyed this workshop which was ideal for me as a beginner. Hannah explained all about lino printing from the different types of lino and clearly demonstrated the different types of printing techniques. She brought along a range of tools and inks for us to try out. Made some great block stamps which we used to create greetings cards, You can learn so much in just three hours. Thank you Hannah for a wonderful workshop.

Thank you so much for your lovely review! It was an absolute pleasure meeting you and taking you through carving and printing making. Your outcome was simply fabulous and I will let you know when I branch out and add more varied courses (like fabric printing!!)
