Nice Lakes

The lakes were lovely with a variety of bids to watch, and some very nice walks. The café was good, clean and tidy, not too bad a price, the cakes were lovely, but oh dear what a... read more

Only visited the Upper Lake but had a lovely stroll around the lake which has a fascinating dam which leads down to the lower lake. In beautiful countryside and very nice little cafe.

My partner and I had the lake to ourselves! We had booked a windsurfing session for beginners and were so lucky, as although we went in October we had clear a clear blue sky which showed off the lake in all its glory, although the water was freezing, the wetsuits we hired done their job well. We had great fun... More

Spent the day with two dogs , while my wife walked around the north lake that has beautiful views I decided to cycle at a lie assure rate taking approx. 30 minutes. To walk round took 1 hour 30 minutes. An enjoyable trip and an excellent cafe on return. Sandwich nice and fresh with ample crisp and salad, the cream... More

Lovely walks, beautiful countryside and very peaceful. Cafe only open in the summer but do nice ice creams. The circular walk around the upper lake takes about an hour but well worth doing.

The lakes were lovely with a variety of bids to watch, and some very nice walks. The café was good, clean and tidy, not too bad a price, the cakes were lovely, but oh dear what a let down with the toilets. They were an absolute disgrace and filthy. Time to spend there would very much depend on the weather... More

Really friendly you need to remember it's a lake and are not allowed to swim in it but £7 allows all day parking and kayaking there's a nice but pricey cafe, caters for gluten free menus and a lovely park.

Suffering typical holiday weather we thought we'd visit the upper lake to walk the dog, let our six year old grandson use the heralded new play facility and have some lunch. The parking was reasonably priced. The toilets were unpleasant. The walking was pleasant and easy. The play area, whilst not huge, was well presented and offered a good variety... More

A lovely peaceful weekend with no wifi. We camped, there seemed to be a lot of confusion about pitches not clear where pitch starts. When we went down to checkin it was clear to us someone else was on our pitch. It would be useful if outside the campsite there was a map indicating where pitches were. It appeared others... More

We surprised our son for his birthday and rented the glamping pod for the weekend. We were very surprised when we arrived as there was no-one else camping - we had the whole place to ourselves. The toilets and showers were clean and well looked after. We hired a Canadian canoe on the Saturday and spent a lovely time on... More

Our first visit and we walked part of the south lake (free car park). After having our picnic lunch we moved to the upper lake. We decided to have a coffee, but dogs are not permitted anywhere in the cafe. They should look at who uses the facility and cater accordingly. There were more parties with dogs than without. We...
