We visited the adjacent Parish Church of St. Winwaloe on a Thursday, when we noticed that the Gildhouse was open as a school party took part in an activity there. This was a welcome bonus as the Gildhouse is normally only open on a Wednesday....More

We visited and were given a really interesting talk about the hall and its long distant past use, its restoration and current place in the local community. It is free and we were made a nice cup of tea by the guide. There are some...More

Talk about secretive spots with limited access (Wednesdays all open in season, but check variations in schedule beforehand) The Gildhouse/St WInwaloe make a wonderful moody pairing, one otherwise often situated in complete isolation. Beautiful location ideal for a small wedding venue, hall and kitchen well looked after, we had a hog roast just outside at the bottom of the steps, would recommend to all family, friends and general public.
