About
Summerleaze Beach is Bude’s central hub of sand, surf and sun, and it’s the first port of call for many visitors. Clean, safe and easy on the eye, Summerleaze Beach is a big hit with surfers, beach bums and families. However, it is the sheer variety of activities that mark Summerleaze as arguably the best beach in Cornwall for outdoor pursuits and water sports. There are superb local surf schools, for example, but you could also try kayaking, sea fishing or sample the thrills of climbing or coasteering with friendly professionals. Summerleaze Beach also has features that show why Bude is popular for family friendly and disability friendly holidays. Summerleaze offers level access and a flat viewing area, for example, while a cute, sheltered sea pool is ideal for young ones to have a salt water dip. For a serious spot of loafing, there are also cute beach huts to hire.

    Nice day out.
Spent the day here. Very nice beach and some shops around to have a look in. There is a sea pool which looked really nice but unfortunately the rain came down before we could get it. I would definitely come back here and spend another day enjoying the views.

    Lovely beach
Great beach, we visited when the tide was on its way in so we didn’t get to see as much of the beach as we would of liked. The beach is dog friendly. There is a large car park and we didn’t struggle getting a spot. Beach is nice and clean. There is a sea pool although we didn’t use it. Lovely views around. Plenty of places to stop for a drink/food. A few shops to look around in. Plenty to do for a day out at the beach. We would love to visit again.

    Great clean beach
Beautiful wide clean sandy beach. Lots of shelter next to cliffs if windy. Beach huts available. Impressed with plenty of life guards on duty the day we went. The sea was rather choppy and waves were getting bigger, great for the surfers. Nice sea pool for those who don’t want to swim in the actual sea. Great idea. Close to car parks, cafes and shops. Definitely recommend.

Fantastic little beach with clean sea, lots of big waves, plenty of amenities and a sea pool
A fantastic wide beach with clean sand, clean sea, plenty of rocks and pools to climb and explore, and the addition of a sea pool which fills up at high tide and leaves calm water for kids to play in at low tide. The beach is well supervised by lifeguards who are on the ball, and constantly supervising the strong currents that come with the big waves. There are plenty of places to buy body boards, wind breakers, buckets and spades, plus shops close by to buy food and drink. The beach car park fills up early, so its not even worth looking for a space by lunchtime. The nearby crescent parking also fills up quickly, but spaces are more likely to become available here, plus they have some nice clean toilets and the option to pay for a week long ticket if you're staying close by, as there is a Premier Inn around the corner. Although it is worth noting that the parking spaces here are quite small, and those with bigger cars may struggle. My kids loved the beach, as did me and my wife and we certainly hope to return next year.

We went to Bude to explore the coast here. This is such an amazing coast, there are panoramic views everywhere. This costal resort is very different to most but the beach is so lovely and long. The sand is so soft and great to sunbathe on.You cannot sunbathe on the left side of the beach due to a hazard found. Also you cannot being inflatables into the sea.The Beach is a blue flag beach but you cannot swim when the red flag is up you cannot swim. They also have two lovely rivers and waterfalls too. When walking up to the coast I saw these pedal boats which looked cool and this is not the case on most costal resorts,I decided to check it out it was so much fun and relaxing.Would definitely Recommend 1/2 an hour is the perfect time. They also have a convenience store, restaurants and a public toilet. They have many water sports experiences too

The sandy beach is convenient to the car park with facilities for snacks nearby . .It is an open expense that can be exposed to the wind and therefore you may wish to check the forecast before visiting

A great beach which is fairly accessible with lots to do nearby. The sea pool is real highlight, and the beach is kept clean and tidy. Definitely worth a visit if you are nearby!

Dogs allowed. Big open space when tide is out. Bit of a trek from sea to toilets whilst tide is out so be warned. Has a good tide pool according to my kids. Lots of things to do if you have children. There’s surfing lessons available, bodyboards available to rent and wet suits, swimming, rock pooling, crab fishing etc. It’s a Sandy beach so bring your bucket and spade. Windbreak/tent advisable. Lifeguards and RLNI on-site.
Please be a responsible dog owner and clean up after your dog so that dogs will continue to be allowed here.

I like Bude much more out of season. The car park during the holiday season at ten pounds per day has increased substantially from last year. There is a lot of rubbish on the beaches, some left behind by visitors and some washed up from the sea. Numerous dogs run loose everywhere, leaving piles of dog poo and there is always noise from barking dogs. The beach between the breakwater and the sea is particularly dirty. This is a shame because it is otherwise a beautiful beach.

The beach itself is very good, the sea pool is amazing! But make sure if you use the car park to lock your vehicles. We returned to our car to find a number of cars near were we had parked had been broken into. With the safety light on our car also flashing to indicate someone had tried to get in ours too. It has left a sour taste on what was otherwise a very good experience at the beach!
