Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Absolutely incredible day spent here with my family including 2 daughters (8 & 9 years).

All the staff were really friendly and helpful. Special shout out to James who was incredible with my girls. So encouraging and really made them feel safe and excited to to try something even if it was a little scary.

Also really appreciated they didn’t embarrass anyone for not wanting to do something.

We will be back!!

The place is a great campsite if you're looking for adventure activities for all the family. We stayed here last week and tried out the kayak/ paddle boarding.

Unfortunately for me during the "fun" activity of getting us to fall off the paddle board I had fractured my ribs and now out of work due to this.
We will still be going back during the summer, but I will be refusing to do any "fun" tasks on the paddle board

Very quiet and peaceful campsite, good prices and would recommend

My daughter visited for a three day (two night stay) with her secondary school. My daughter has coeliac disease so has to eat a strict gluten free diet free from any cross contamination. Well, what can I say? The chef went above and beyond to make sure she could eat dinner, each night giving her three meals so that she had safe choices! He also gave her the choice from a whole range of gluten free treats from Asda. My daughter enjoyed the activities- there are so many adventurous activities but the real highlight was being catered for safely.

Do not bother.. Sold a lemon!
We 'thought' we'd camp here for a couple of nights as a bit of a base camp to chill and explore the area, we wasn't here for the adventure equipment (thankfully) as there wasn't much adventure happening, the 'adventure lake' didn't have a single person on it or anyone in site!

On booking we booked with another family with younger children, unfortunately due to illness they couldn't come but we've since told them that they would be pleased as they would have had bored children on their hands, we were told it was booked up so they'd have to share our pitch with us but when a pitch came available they called and the other family took it, so we assumed it was busy... Hmmm where is everyone?

So we turned up around 2ish, we immediately wondered where we were and where everything was. We could see climbing frames..
We decided to pitch up and then go explore, when we did explore we found a closed cafe, shuts at 3 and does not open until the am! No games room or bar or anywhere to go if it was raining (and it was pouring down, with winds, so much wind we lost our gazebo) so then stuck with no where to cook or socialise together, daughter in tent, us in the van!

Toilets/showers etc... Where are they, signs would be great, and take a torch when going by night as not a single guide light. (toilets were clean)

We found the local pub, 10 mins walk, we had a lovely meal then returned to our pitch where we decided to do plan b, went online and booked somewhere else for the following day, the teen was happy!!!

We know weather plays a huge factor in it all, and if dry and warm we would have found it easier but it's not geared up for wet weather, we truly thought it would be busy and things going on.. Shame..

I am very disappointed and angry with the way we have been treated about a refund! As our daughter came back early after a planned residential school trip that we paid £250 for .I have been trying for over 3 weeks to get at least a partial refund back , I even emailed them but they are too lazy to get back to me.I advise that if your child is on a school trip and wants to get back early , they can't be bothered to refund you any money back . Also disorganised ,and when we picked our daughter the next day We got to wait ages for a member of staff to find the keys to her dormitory in which me and my husband were waiting half an hour or so with no communication of what was happening!.its not what it's made out to be, The ultimate headache !

We’ve just stayed for 3 nights in one of the Adventure Bunkhouses on site and couldn’t wait to leave. The rooms are beyond basic, not even a table to put your bits and pieces on, nor a mirror by the basin; awful mattresses in uncomfortable beds. Signage is non-existent on site. We found the camp kitchen eventually, miles from where the poor campers were and such a trek to the toilets for them. I think if you are there with a peer group, you do their adventure activities, stay one night and eat in a pub you’ll be fine, but it’s definitely NOT a family camping destination. How in this day and age they didn’t have easily accessible recycling bins by the accommodation is beyond me. It’s a shame about all the dog poo every where, but not their fault. Honestly, we hated the whole experience. My overall memory will be of large wooden buildings of unknown use on a massive site with bad gravel roads.

Absolutely nothing is what we liked about this place. We were duped into believing this was a holiday camping site by Pitchup.com
Upon arrival we soon realised this was nothing like we had been led to believe it to be. Mid July and there was not a sole on site. No tents, No caravans, No Campervans nothing. Apart from the 1 guy sat at the desk of reception. We were the only people there. We were shown the way to the spot we were allocated, it was right at the side of the busy road, all you can hear is traffic and sirens going. It claims it is a 5 minute drive to Westward Ho Beach, well that maybe true, but if you choose to walk it, it's an hour and a half because the 5 minute drive is along a National speed limit busy road!!
We went to see the guy at reception and I explained to him that this is not what we had booked and we were going to leave the next morning as we had just driven 250 miles and needed rest. He told me that would be ok and we could arrange a refund for the 2 unused days and someone would come and see us to arrange this. Well that never happened, and when I went back to the office it was all locked up. Seriously avoid this place if it is a camping holiday you are looking for. THIS IS NOT A CAMP SITE!!!
Another couple turned up while we were searching online to find another site to move onto, they came spoke to us and said they had also booked expecting it to be a normal holiday site, they were also very disappointed and drove off to find an alternative site.

There was a lot of just sitting around when you could have been doing stuff. The activitys were described and looked better then they actually were. The rooms were utter filth covered in stains dead bugs and stuff all over the floors, the beds are really squeaky and the mattresses are like rocks. the food was also vile some times not even cooked properly, the eggs were grey and the bread was stale, and the sandwiches were out of date. Most of the instructors/leaders were very chill and nice bring the vibe up a little bit. But over all is a waste of money would not recommend.

Date of stay was 05/08/22 to 07/08/22 in one of the “adventure barns”. The room had no hot water bathroom light didn’t work so we had to use a flashlight for toilet usage.Reported to management via cleaner/reception staff no response from management received, obviously not interested.Room door dampener not functional so unless care was taken door would slam making a noise for other guests. My 13 year old son forgot a couple of times which caused friction with another guest!! We asked about the activities at the so called “Adventure park” told everything closed as it was for school use only.

One of your staff members has worked an 18 hours shift. Called in early for his night duty and then was kept up all night by ncs had barely any sleep then was supposed to go home at half 8 and you kept him on a session n to take a group surfing, he barely slept due to issues on sight, so it’s due to you, and so not his fault, and you are going against health and safety putting him on that session. If anything happened while surfing he’d get the blame which is not fair. It is also almost illegal to keep a staff member at work for 18 hours.

Hello, Thank you for your feedback. I appreciate your concern for our staff and totally agree that if a member of our team had 'in fact' worked an 18 hour shift it would go against the legal working hours in the UK. Having investigated this I can confirm there is no rota nor clock-in card that details ANY staff member working anywhere near the hours you have suggested. We are aware that our staff are exceptionally dedicated but this claim takes the biscuit. If you would like to discuss the matter further please email hello@ultimateadventurecentre.com Kind regards, The UAC team.
