- Thomas B3 contributionsAbysmalCame here today, 19th February with 11 tickets including 6 adults, 2 children with 1 child under 3ft and 2 babies. In total £140. We came here expecting the rollercoaster and swan lake to be closed. Upon arrival we were told this was the case, so thought fair enough. As we went around the park, we noticed that many of the rides and attractions were closed. The tractor ride, the duck trials due to bird flu which had no sign stating this, the farm safari ride, the world famous sheep racing and the battlefield live combat games was burnt down according to the reception manager, but still shows on the park map that it is available. All of these rides were closed which were not mentioned on the website. We also couldn't pet the animals due to that also being closed. I spoke to the reception manager and her response was simply, "did you see the shows today and the only ride closed was the little piggy one." The manager simply disregarded my points that I was putting across. Even a simple sign or mention of this on the website would have been beneficial. In regards to the price I feel that the price for a ticket due to the many ride closures, should be lowered. The manager stated that everyone gets a free return in Easter, which simply isn't good enough considering the distance we have travelled to come here which was 3hrs 30mins!! After asking the manager for a partial refund her comments were absolutely appalling and kept repeating herself by saying did we see the shows today. We shall not be returning to this abysmal park. Even the chap operating the twister ride agreed with my views!! Says it all really!!Visited February 2023Travelled with familyWritten 19 February 2023
- Julie B1 contributionCruel!!!!I can’t even give this one star!!! I have a number of issues re this park, the entry fee in relation to what you get for starters but that’s not my main concern. I was appalled at the animal barn, yes it was clean but it was by far adequate to meet the needs of the animals, both in terms of physical and mental stimulation. Not one of the pens were big enough for the farm animals, a lot were young or newborn and none had space or an area to retreat to if they’d had enough of constant footfall. Many of the ewes had not long given birth or were about to lamb and were clearly stressed, surely their basic needs in this area could/should be met!!! I was also appalled to see 2 young collie pups in a small pen with no enrichment (how to break a dog at an early age) I’ve no doubt these puppies will go on to be sold!!! This is a perfect example of human greed, without a care or concern for an animal’s welfare or right. Not a great example to set for young children, basically teaching them that it’s ok to treat an animal this way and use for human gain. I certainly won’t be recommending this place to any friends, family or guests, Big Sheep SHAME on you 😡Visited April 2023Travelled with familyWritten 11 April 2023
- CazzaMIlkley, United Kingdom157 contributionsMixed experienceWe went with our 2.5 year old, and there was plenty there to entertain him but I have mixed feelings about the experience. We watched the sheep show, which was ok, but then the duck herding just made me uncomfortable… ducks being chased around and distressed in the name of entertainment… not for me. The soft play was fantastic, the train and tractor rides were good and there were lots of animals to see. But the fact it closed at 2pm felt too early, even for a term-time weekday. My son was one centimetre away from being charged full price… if he had been 3ft, he’d have been full price but still wouldn’t have been able to go on all the rides as you had to be 3ft AND 4 years old for the rollercoaster and chair swing, so not sure the pricing is logical?? But as it was, the whole cost for the three of us was reasonable at around £25, which included a 25% discount from our holiday park. Not sure I’d return…Visited June 2023Travelled with familyWritten 24 June 2023
- Ryan B1 contributionUnderwhelming Day OutVery underwhelming day out given the cost of the place to go. We arrived and found out the rollercoaster wasn't working, tractor ride wasn't operating, honeypot bears was under maintenance and half of the stalls selling drinks etc were closed. The only saving grace was the soft play which was really good. Without the soft play we would have been round the place and done inside 30-40 mins. Emailed to ask what had happened on the day and was told the coaster opened at 12 but no explanation about anything else. Would not recommend or would call in advance to see what is open prior to going.Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten 18 July 2023
- Jonny T1 contributionDog kennels in the car parkIt mentions they have kennels for your dog so you can relax and not keep your dog at home, when we arrived there are tiny tiny kennels stored in the car park directly in the sun. When raised we got told ‘we are a working farm so the dog will have to go in kennels or take it home’ If this is how they treat animals then we would not want to see anymore. No water for the dog, nobody the keep an eye on the dog, tiny padlock to lock away your dog.Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten 30 July 2023
- Stefanie LGDoncaster, United Kingdom23 contributionsGreat place but overpriced!Lovely little place for the family- lots of things to do for the day. I know peoples opinions on pricing differ but to us a normal working family, It was just so expensive for what it is. Admission, refreshments & gift shop, all massively over priced for what it is (sorry!) The staff are really nice & friendly but the prices really did spoil it. Even if we were to take our own food/drink the admission is on the steep side.Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten 3 August 2023
- Angela GAscot, United Kingdom27 contributionsGreat for young families, not for older teensThis is a lovely attraction and ideal for families with young children. But there really is next to nothing to keep older teens interested. It is not a day out for “all the family” or “children and adults of all ages”. The shows were impressive (but there were 5, not 12 of them) and the barn/animals were a hit. The roller coaster was described by my 16 year old as “not terrible” and even that was better than the chair ride. The food from the Barn cafe was good, though, as other have said, pricey - £7 for a meal deal (wrap/panini, drink and crisps) is steep. My only saving grace was that we went on Tesco vouchers so entry only cost us £7.50 (plus a £2 booking charge, which I think is cheeky) each, not the full £15. But still a lot of money for a “not terrible” day out.Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 7 August 2023
- Ali HLondon, United Kingdom5 contributionsGo on a dry dayWent on a rainy day, lots of the attractions called off because of this. Softplay was too busy as not much else to do. A handful of the rides/attractions require additional funds once in, however these were rained off. Family enjoyed the sheep and dog show, very insightful! Also went to the Milky Way theme park nearby, this felt like much better value for money on a wet day.Visited July 2023Travelled with familyWritten 16 August 2023
- Sallyann w4 contributionsPoorTravelled 20 miles to get here today as it has things to do indoors and is dog friendly. However they do not state on the website that you HAVE to put your dogs into the kennels. The website is very misleading and actually states your dog will have fun in the kernels. However they are simply a meter cubed kennel with mesh on the front with a tiny padlock. Anyone could come along into the (open) car park where these are situated, smash the lock off and steal your beloved pet. If the sun is out they will simply cook in there. We witnessed 5 dogs in these who were all barking and stressed. It was horrible. We were told our dogs could not go into the park itself so we left. There is no way on God's earth I would leave my dogs in there!! That's not dogs having fun. It's simply awful. I wish I had taken some pictures.Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 29 August 2023

Visited here as a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 children - 14,11&2). We used Tesco Clubcard vouchers and the 2 year old was free. There was a £2 each booking fee online. It wasnt too busy and we did have a great day.
My sons first time on the Jumpy Pillows and he loved them, weren’t too many kids on them the few times we went back to them which was good. Indoor play area was fun, the blue wavy slide was a hit.
Older two enjoyed the flying swings and rollercoaster, option to purchase your photos afterwards.
We queued around 40 mins for the swan paddle boats but we did enjoy our boat around the lake (life jackets provided for kids).
A few different animals to see in the indoor barn and we went on the train whilst in there. We also did the last tractor ride of the day which was a nice ride around after a long day. Driver was lovely and showed the kids things on their ride around.
the duck show was very funny, the man was brilliant as was the lady doing the sheep show.
Sheep racing £2 per bet, my daughter won a badge and a winners mug - she was pleased.
Staff seemed friendly enough.
There is a giant deckchair for photos before you leave

We went to the Halloween Toddler takeover with friends. Great day out, plenty to see and do. The effort with the pumpkins everywhere was amazing! Lots of effort all round, staff were super helpful too. We didn't eat there so can't comment on this but options looked good.

Really nice place for the kids, but a better map would be good.
Lots of little things to keep the young ones entertained, being October we were expecting a few things not to be open but apart from 1 ride everything was good to go. Did find it hard to navigate around to get to different areas as the map provided isn't great. Will be back when its warmer I think

A very enjoyable day out. The whole family enjoyed the day, ga good schedule of events and we’ll spread out. The only criticism was the entry queue moving incredibly slowly, not through it being busy just the operators being very slow. We arrived at 10am and it took I’ve 20 mins to get in!

Visited for a second year running as we loved it so much the first time. This is such an ideal place for an energetic toddler with plenty of variety- there is a great little train, swan pedalos and little cars to drive. The sheep barn is my absolute favourite- if you weren’t a fan of sheep before then you will be now! The sheep are so cute and very friendly. There are miniature goats and calves to pet and you can buy feed which the shed and goats are very appreciative of. The sheep show is hosted by a lovely man who is extremely entertaining and a duck herding show which is also very funny as well as informative. We can’t wait to go back!

We enjoyed a super day at The Big Sheep with our family & granddaughter (2). The shows were perfectly timed, with interesting info, good adult/child humour. Plenty of animals to look at & feed. Highly recommended.

We were staying at Bideford Bay holiday park and were planning on a visit to the Big Sheep whilst in the area. We have been to the Big Sheep a few times before; we found it is best to visit when dry as a large number of rides etc are outside. Plenty of parking available, we were one of the first few guests in. We had a great time - so much to see and do. We thought the photo machine on the roller-coaster was a good idea - at the end of the ride you can view photos of being on the roller-coaster, pay £2 in coins and the machine will email the photo to you. The soft play area was clean; one of the slides wasnt very slippery but then a staff member very quickly resolved that by spraying something on the slide. All the staff that we encountered were friendly and welcoming. We stayed all day and were the last guests to leave; great value for money. Will no doubt visit again when in the area!

Great experience. Plenty to do and keep you occupied for a few hours. Many of the rides stop after a certain time, so best to keep that in mind. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Sheep racing is s good laugh and so was the duck show.

What age range is this attraction for? We're in the area in the Easter hols and are considering visiting but the kids in our party are 6-12 and I'm a bit worried it might be a bit young for them??
Likewise, we may bring grandparents too and wondered if the brewery is a real experience/pub or a glorified shop?

There's loads to do on a rainy day! As well as our huge indoor play area, most of our shows are indoors, and those that are outdoors can be watched undercover. Plus there's our animal barn to keep you entertained too.

it's a functioning farm, their costs of running don't change so presumably the same income is required, and hey probably get less footfall out of season. There's some good deals to be found though.
