    I’m being generous
I’m being generous giving a high rating, the main purpose for this rating is to ensure my messages are not wrongly taken it was a good day out for a family of 4 from Cornwall without kids. Was on the pricier side given the circumstances. The shows were very good but 3 key improvements I think would help 1. A duck show in the afternoon so those coming from afar can also watch if not arriving at 10am 2. Easy place to buy sheep feed from at the barn area 3. To have the song “this is me” be played when all sheep are on stage for the sheep show as a artist piece of the majesty of who the sheep are. I was here about 20 years ago and do hope to return again one day in future.

    family day out
Visited with family of 4, kids aged 2 and 6. This was an enjoyable day out, enough to keep them entertained. To make it worth while you need to watch the shows, which are fun and educational. We didn't use the rollercoaster or pedalos due to kids ages. The animal barn and soft play occupied most of the time along with the shows throughout the morning. The soft play is fun for all ages! Another plus is you can use Tesco Clubcard to pay for tickets ( with a £2 admin fee per person ). Overall an enjoyable day for younger kids, I think older children would be bored quickly.

Big Fun and The Big Sheep
Really fun day out. Loved seeing and feeding the animals and meeting the puppy Border Collies. Rides were good fun and the kids loved the soft play when the rain came in. All round good day, something for everyone and enough to fill a good couple of hours if not more, we spent a good 6 hours playing! Reasonably priced and staff were great. I’d always recommend The Big Sheep and will come back when in this part of the UK again.

Best day out for all ages
The BEST day out by far. Visited today with children ranging from 5-13 and each one said how they had the best day ever and didn’t want to leave. Very fun day, so much to do and see. The shows were great full of laughs and educational too. Food was brilliant and staff couldn’t have been anymore helpful with our daughters food allergy swapping snacks and making her fresh sandwich for a kids pack. Highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back again.

    Fun for all the family
Nine of us went to The Big Sheep, ages ranged from 3 to 73 and all enjoyed the day. As others have said it’s not aimed specifically at teens so I doubt just a family with teens would go there, however for a group with mixed ages it was fine, my 13 and 15 year old loved going on rides with their toddler cousins and secretly loved feeding the animals in the barn too I think. The Animal Barn was a great hit, as was the soft play and my older two liked the rollercoaster and the chairoplanes. The toddlers enjoyed the pedalos, train ride and the tractor ride to see some other animals was fun too. We didn’t use the food places as we took a packed lunch but there were plenty of options and places to get ice creams around the site. All in all a fun day out enjoyed by everyone. Only suggestion I would make would be that there seemed to be a bit of an issue with wasps everywhere, worse around the food areas and bins obviously, so that needs to try and be sorted. We also found the map of the park we were given a little confusing, generally don’t have a problem navigating around these places but seeing as we hadn’t been before is wasn’t clear that you had to walk under the tunnel in the main building to get to the other side of the park to find train/animal barn etc. Plenty of staff around thought to assist when needed.

Full day out - great value- like Disney but sheep and English and pasties.
Returned after a five year hiatus. So kids able to walk further and do more now. It’s brilliant. We love it and I came home with four new sheep skin rugs as souvenirs. If we didn’t live so very far away we’d be here more often. Very family friendly.

    Incredible
What an incredible day. Such good value for money. The staff that did the shows were brilliant- so much to do. Rides and the best soft play we have seen. We held puppies, fed lambs and sheep, rode a train. Incredible and absolutely a place to make memories with the family

    What a cracking day out!
It was a day with rain forecast and as it was our last day on holiday in North Devon we treated ourselves with our Tescos vouchers to a visit. We had never been to the Big Sheep before with our four kids (2, 5, 8 and 11) as we felt it would be too busy, commercial and impersonal. We couldn't have been more wrong! Every member of staff, from the lady that greeted us and took our tickets, to the lady who we purchased our food from in the cafe (which was very good (the pasty was great!) and reasonably priced, which was a surprise for us, as usually at these kinds of attractions the food is at best an afterthought that is over priced and poor quality), to the lamb feeding Shepardess, to the man running the tea cups (a lovely chap indeed), to the lady who served us iced cream and slushies, to the two very cool dudes running the rollercoaster, to the narrator to the sheep race, to the lady who we purchased some cuddly toys from in the shop, was pleasant, engaging, great with our children and a joy to be around. All the staff seemed to be glad to be there and having a good time, and that kind of enthusiasm is priceless and infectious. I have never been to a place where simply everyone we have met has been so fabulous, pleasant and with such a clear sense of purpose. So aside from the wonderful people and the good food, the rollercoaster was perfectly pitched for our oldest three (I rather enjoyed it too), and all the animals looked very well looked after. We saw lots of sheep (obviously), who appeared expertly cared for, some pigs and piglets, calves, rabbits, guinea pigs. The soft play was very good that I wound my way around with my 2 year old. I would not send a 2 year old up alone mind you, as there are a few trickier parts that they might get stuck or worried in. The big slides are great fun (and proves my children are braver than me going down the sheer slides!). The shows were expertly pitched that we saw, and the lamb feeding was a real highlight and a first for us and was expertly executed. It was not too busy, which was a pleasant surprise in the summer holiday so there was no queuing for the rollercoaster what so ever. We were blown away by the place and the experience - the highlight though was the wonderful people.

Really great day out - highly recommended
We had such a great day here! There was so much to see and do - we hardly stopped the whole day and still there were things we didn’t get to! The shows were very good - the sheep show in particular. My daughters loved seeing and feeding the lambs. Plenty of good rides too, especially the rollercoaster. Would definitely recommend this place to other families.

We went with my 3y o daughter and 3 similar aged cousins . A real hidden gem, a fantastic day out - reasonably priced for the activities and experiences available, and full credit to ‘ John’ , the show manager - we attended the ‘feed the lamb’s’, sheep show, sheep race, and most impressively - the ‘duck herding’ by sally the collie dog- which was fab! The children loved it- the roller coaster was far better than expected but aimed perfectly for younger children. All the staff were very enthusiastic, welcoming and helpful, the facilities were well kept and cleaned.
Would certainly return in the future , keep up the great work, thank you !

We totally love it when we get your five star reviews, so many thanks for taking the time to do this. I am glad that your daughter and her cousins had so much fun on the roller coaster, this is a pretty huge ride and the great thing about having it here in North Devon, we never get huge queues and so everyone can really enjoy it and ride it multiple times. It is such a pleasure to read your comments about John and all the rest of the team. I am so glad you enjoyed our wonderful shows. We very much look forward to welcoming you all again when you are next in North Devon. Take care and thanks again for choosing us as your special place to visit. - Rick Director of the Flock

Excellent visit so good we went twice in a week on hollybobs from Edinburgh. Superb array of activities and fun for 7 and 10 year old. We arranged our holiday visiting Devon again after last year's trip to the big sheep . Not disappointed. Highly recommend it.
On site food ok but more choice would be appreciated. Staff are wonderful and helpful. Shows are fun and informative. Big thumbs up thank you . Flora, Charlotte and Tim

We had an absolutely fantastic day out here, with a 3 year old and 8 month old. The shows were great, and the tone that 'Farmer Zoe' set made the shows enjoyable for adults and children alike. The shows were pitched perfectly, and were just the right length to keep our 3 year old occupied without him losing interest. The indoor play area was great- with a range of slides for all abilities (and bravery). The baby sensory room was a wonderful addition for our 8 month old, who normally has little to do on days out. We thought it was great that the baby sensory room was behind a coded door- so that older children couldn't wander in. This made the room completely baby friendly and very calming. We thought we'd spend a couple of hours here- but we were there all day! Great value for the amount of things available to do. We would definitely visit again if we are in the area!

We went with 2 adults and 3 children. 10 , 5 and 2 .
Whilst we did enjoy the day. I do think the big sheep is fairly overpriced. It cost us over £70 for admission. Then a futher £8 in animal feed. (4 bags)
A futhur £20 for the shooting range.
Whilst there is stuff to do including a roller coaster (which has rediculous limitations on. An adult over 1.2 metres can ride alone but a child over 1.2 metres either has to ride with another child over 1.2 metres or ride with an adult. As no children are allowed to ride alone. Which includes teenagers . Seems rediculous to me. Which posed an issue for us as my 5 year old and 10 year both wanted to ride the coaster but one of the adults had to stsy with the 2 year old which resulted in me leaving one of the children at the platform and riding the roller coaster about 20 times to alternate each child. However thr kids did enjoy the rollercoaster. The shows were good. But everything just looks a little tired and overgrown and not the cleanest. A little spruce up and a trim of everywhere would make the world of difference.
The cafe Is overpriced so I would take a picnic as we did but we decided to get some chips. £3.95 for one average portion of fried chips. £3.50 for a small latte.
I think if the big sheep cut their prices a little then the numbers would be higher as the park today was extremely quiet when it was a Saturday with nice weather.
So yes we would come back here as it was overall a good day out. Just beware of the hidden costs and expect to spend a lot of money. In comparison to other attractions in Devon such as the milky way and creely. There prices are much better and in my opinion are much better attractions then the big sheep. Creely cost us £60 and the milky way cost us £50. And there attractions have much more to offer then then the big sheep.

Thank you for coming to visit us and for taking the time to write this review. We really appreciate your comments and we take all feedback on board. With all of our rides the safety of our customers is our first priority, hence why children must be accompanied by an adult. We want everyone to enjoy themselves here and have a fun and safe day out. We understand this is not ideal for some but we hope you had a great time getting so much use out of the roller coaster. The park is always a little quieter out of season but we hope this added to the experience as it is very busy during the school holidays. We constantly review our prices to make sure they are fair and reasonable, we are very disheartened to hear you felt it was overpriced. We do try to keep the prices in the park the best value for our customers whilst battling with the ever rising cost of living. We have lots of picnic areas around the park where we welcome guests to enjoy the option of their own food. We feel all our prices are fair and reasonable for what is provided in the park, especially the unlimited use of the rides and our wonderful shows. Overall we are pleased you enjoyed your day. We would love to welcome you back again in the future and hope next time you find us worthy of another star (or two). Best wishes, The whole of the Flock.

We took our 5 year old niece here in the week and I think if she were to be writing this review she’d say it was incredible so it was really good that she enjoyed it!

She absolutely loved feeding the lambs and seeing all the animals in the barn (especially because she got to hold a puppy).

I think it’s fair to say she had a great day. The reason however that this is not a 5 star review from me is that for some aspects of the park (the tractor track) you had to pay additionally for, so on top of your entrance fee which I thought was bad.
The fact that you have to pay entry for children under 12 months wasn’t great either so that’s something to keep in mind.

Thank you so much for your honest review, we do appreciate all the feedback we get. We are so happy to hear your niece had an amazing time, coming face to face with our friendly farmyard animals is an experience she will never forget. Who knows maybe she's the newest member our flock in the making! The entry price to the park covers the majority of our attractions. Some of these attractions and family rides are only available to a small number of visitors so it would unfairly increase the park entrance cost if we were to make these attractions free. We would of course love to offer everything included but the attractions which have a small charge are the Tractor Driving School (£1) and the Electric Quad Bikes (£1). We do have a small entry fee for our youngest guests but this includes lots of activities including our private sensory room. Once again thank you for coming to spend the day with us, we look forward to welcoming you back again soon. Best wishes, The whole Flock

I’ve visited the big sheep numerous times as it’s fairly local and with the benefit of Tesco vouchers. Never been disappointed (we’re back for the kids fest so hopefully that will also be enjoyable).
We went in half term this year and I was a little worried about ques for the rides but I can honestly say we didn’t Que once for anything (other then if the ride was already on but that’s to be expected). I’ve been to crealy numerous times in the holidays and been queing for over an hour for their rollercoaster where as we ended up going on the one at the big sheep about 15 times today. I would say my children are probably now at the age where this year may well be my last as my eldest is nearly double digits and it is more suited to younger children, that being said with the rollercoaster we had a great day out . It did take a while to check in as only one person on the tills. All the staff were super friendly . Park is clean , toilets could maybe do with an extra check but otherwise all ok. I do think they are missing a trick with some of their empty spaces as they could easily add a few more rides or play items in, and it’s a shame the tractor ride wasn’t on (apparently a subsided track). When we came years ago they used to have little piggy cars. Overall I think if you have little ones your have a great day out but it’s probably to young for older children.

We do love our regular visitor who return again and again. I have been here since the start 30 years ago and still get a big buzz from being able to provide high quality entertainment and put smiles onto faces of our visitors. The roller coaster is pretty fab and the great thing is with a ride of this size on our park there is so much capacity there is rarely any queues. Thanks for coming back with your whole flock and glad they all have had a fun time. Hope you had a great time at kidsfest! - Rick Director of the flock

Wow what a hidden gem this place was. We were a party of 8 2 families with kids age 14,10 and 8 and I can honestly say we all loved it. We saw so many baa ad by animals watched all the shows which were brilliant and really funny and interesting. We saw a baby lamb being born piglets goats and an added bonus was the puppies. It was a rainy day with some sun but there was indoor and outdoor activities. If you are in North Devon this place is worth a visit and to top it off we used our Tesco club card points so it didn’t cost us a penny.

We travelled 3 hours to visit and it was well worth it. Two note worthy members of your team, the Scottish farmer and there was a guy in the cafe cracking jokes and working his bum off. General feel that people love working there and people care about the experience for guests.
Everything was spotlessly clean, food was good quality and not a rip off and a decent variation of rides for all ages. Mine are 9, 7 and 2 and they all came away asking to go again.
We have done so many farm parks and they are all good but you never feel like it’s very good value as it’a £80-100 to hold a hamster usually. This isn’t that at all, loads to do and we will definitely be back!

We didn't quite know what to expect, but that was all art of the fun. We had the most amazing day out. Our two children (12/14) loved it. I would say it is more suited to little ones, but our two are not screen demons so find the fun in anything outside. We loved it all and would come again.
