Walk on the sand with our old dog Jess
This beach holds so many memories for me. With my grandparents, my parents and now my husband and our very old dog. I’ve loved this beach since I was a child now in my 50’s I still love this beach. It is a luxurious sandy beach and I really love it. The dog as old as she is thought she was a puppy when here and tried to run on the sand. Lovely beach great town B lots of nice places to eat and drink. Perfect English seaside.

    A lovely family spot
A sweeping Sandy beach with amazing fees. A real family gathering spot. It was picturesque even in an overcast day. We enjoyed a walk and some obligatory chips from a lovely chip shop on the front.

Beautiful beaches with lots of coastline to visit
Weymouth. What a beautiful place. Surrounded by the world heritage coastline and beautiful blue sparkling water. There are many places to stay, amazing placing to visits and during summer you could almost mistake it for not being in the UK. We visit often now and it's our favourite stay-cation destination.

Lovely, clean, not overly crowded, dog friendly
Who would want to visit a busy beach side town on a busy bank holiday Monday at lunchtime on the first day of a bit of sunshine?! Us! And we were pleasantly surprised, we found somewhere easy to park (£££), no queuing, everywhere was clean, toilets accessible, and smiling happy faces. There was everything from well cared for donkey rides to fair ground rides, free water to refill your bottles, deck chair hire to all your usual arcade rides, and high street favourites. We walked the whole stretch of the beach, and it appeared one side was designated for doggies! Of course had to stop for fish and chips and a cheeky ice cream! A pleasant experience to what I was dreading!

    Fantastic Punch and Judy
Weymouth beach was fantastic! The boys loved the Sandy beach and clear blue sea. They enjoyed going on some of the fairground rides, Pedalo, fish and chips and best of all…Poulton puppets Punch and Judy show!

Beach is lovely parking is far to expensive
Weymouth beach is lovely and the sea is clear.plenty of beach huts for a nice cup of tea coffee ice cream etc. A fair has well. It's downfall of weymouth is the parking prices 7.30 upto for hours.after that jumps to 15 00. If you want to spend the day at lodmoore adventure park for the day. 15.00 pound to park and the costs on top for adventure park. Expensive day for a family

Best beach in South of England
Love this brach, powdery sand, lots of room. The water is beautiful and mostly calm. The usual seagulls who can be ready to leap on you. Love the coffee/beer/wine bars on the beach, great for chilling after being on beach all day or during of course .

    It’s a great beach BUT !
It’s a beautiful beach , fabulous sand and sea that’s not too deep for the littles. Fabulous Lois , cafes and shop close by . BUT ! The massive funfair really spoils what is a beautiful bay . It blocks the sea view from restaurants and cafes it’s just awful

A Great Family Day Out at Weymouth Beach Despite the Weather
As usual, the weather in England is unpredictable. When we arrived at the beach, we were greeted by rain, but by the afternoon, the sun was shining. Despite this, the weather didn’t spoil our family outing. Overall, the beach is nice and clean, and it’s clear that it is well-maintained. It’s also great that there are lifeguards who carefully monitor safety at sea. The only downside was the cold water, even in August. However, this didn’t stop us from taking a swim. All in all, we were pleased and will definitely return. ⛱️

Perfect for the traditional seaside holiday experience
From our hotel, the Alexandra, we had a great view of the beach and were pleasantly surprised to see that the tractors were out early scouring the beach. We've never seen so many staff litterpicking during the day, and their task was aided by an incentive scheme to use the bins. A specific area of the beach is marked out for dog walkers. Full marks to the authorities for keeping the beach so clean and attractive. We didn't go into the water but there were lots of people swimming and kayaking, and the water looked very clean. Weymouth has all the elements for a traditional seaside holiday - from candy floss to ice cream, funfair to slots arcade, an interesting harbour and boat trips, a beach train and restaurants of every kind. Tip: A ride on the land train along the esplanade and across the bridge to Hope Square costs just £6 return (August 2024). It's fun, and worth it to get your bearings, but keep the ticket and it currently provides an offer of 2 for 1 lunchtime main courses at the local Prezzo Italian - it gave us a discount of £16! We went down to Weymouth by rail as there are good frequent services to London Waterloo, with connections to other destinations via Southampton, so you can start relaxing from the beginning of your holiday, without the hassle of driving.

The 4 of us stayed 3 nights, lovely renovated bedrooms on top floor, new carpet, shower and modern furnishing. No breakfast due to Covid19 but plenty of places very near. Lovely bar in the evening and drinks available on the outside patio. Jonathan the manager was superb we had a great welcome and he couldn't do enough to make our stay the best it could be, plenty of laughs we ( Theresa, Neil, Mattie n Jill) will definitely be going back.

Weymouth beach is long and lovely. Wide sands and very gently shelving into the sea, it is safe for kids and fun for anybody. Right now there is the added interest of seeing the 'ghost ships' - ocean liners and cruise ships sheltering in the bay because of the Covid 19 situation. We swam from just below the Victoria clock and ate at a small beach side cafe there - sensible prices and friendly service. The weather was terrible with wild gale force winds and some rain! (But you can't blame anyone for that). Each morning the beach is raked and smoothed over with a tractor and cleared of any rubbish. The water also seemed very clean and sheltered.

The beach is pebbly at the south end but has lovely sand at the top near the harbour. It has a look out life guard station at the sandy side as well as pedalo's available to hire at reasonable prices. There are plenty of places to get snacks and drinks and lots of places to be able to take a rest if just walking along the front. The beach is beautiful and clean and no dogs are allowed on in the summer months.

Lovely beach but awful experience won’t be going again. I went to the beach with my children on a very hot summer day during school summer holiday ( 9/8/22 ) the beach was very busy and packed. I sat in front of a rude and nasty man and put my wind breaker up he swore at me and spoke to me very rudely using F words apparently I blocked his view and what not and told me to F in move. I sat wherever it was convenient for me and close to the water to watch my kids as I have 2 autistic children. I have never been spoken to so rudely in public in my life I even said sorry and moved for his view. I really believe he was like that specifically to me as I am from an ethnic background. Later a white family sat in front of him he said nothing to them. Bad experience ruined my whole day won’t be going again.

When the weather was good, as it was during most of my 2 week holiday, the beach looked very full, but when you got onto it there was plenty of space, and most people were observing social distancing.
The big difference this year was the absence of childrens rides etc. on the beach, even the Punch and Judy was not there, but the donkeys were still giving rides. The pedalos were operating. as were the lifeguards, so in many respects it did not seem too different.
As usual, the beach was clean, and new toilets have been built.

As you drive up into Weymouth the wide Sandy cove stretches out on your left. On the right is a gentle curve of candy coloured stunning houses that gives the impression of riches that must have been here at one time. The Sandy beach is spotless and the donkeys, Punch and Judy and sand sculptures are all here too. They have managed to keep it feeling traditional and I was surprised at just how lovely it is. Definitely planning on coming back.

What a fantastic, large, mostly sandy, beach with a lovely aspect too. Plenty for everyone to enjoy and the toilets and shower areas look excellent. The sea is clearly safe too. Deckchair and windbreak hire is really good value at £2.50 and £3.50 per day respectively. A super, wide promenade makes for a lovely stroll and there are loads of cafes and ice cream parlours nearby. The town centre and train station are both a short walk away too.

This is like entering a time warp when international travel wasn't so accessible. The beach has sand, which for the UK is a plus. But compared to beaches down in Cornwall or abroad it doesn't compete. Also, the water is freezing even on a really hot day. The area has the traditional beachside shops selling overpriced rubbish.

We have always loved weymouth but unfortunately will not be returning, the parking prices have increased dramatically anything over 4 hours now is £15.00 for both long stay and short stay car parks, feel ripped off as a consequence didn’t spend in town on coffee etc. was groups of youngsters after 4pm very loud swearing etc, apparently problems with asb at night was told by a local. Went to Swanage today parking 7 hours £5.80 well done Swanage, shame on weymouth, will deprive shops of trade and families is a lot of expense before even getting to town, also 30p for car park toilet.
