- MiddletonlassBanbury, United Kingdom284 contributionsOh wow!The sand sculptures are undercover and there are a lot there. Designed by sculptors from around the world they are a must to see. Mostly changed yearly there is one that is 10 years old. They are big and very artistic. This year there was dinosaurs, films ( Dumbo, Star Trek, Jurassic Park, Aliens to name a few, Tv programme (Dr Who) and topical. Great for kids and adults alike. There is a covered sand area for making sandcastles and a small cafe. No toilets (they are in the adjacent council carpark). Nice litte shop.Visited April 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 10 April 2024
- David TWeybridge, United Kingdom215 contributionsA Memorable VisitWe were not sure about going after reading some of the reviews but we really enjoyed it. We walked round twice, once in each direction, as suggested. It took us about an hour. We were amazed at the size and detail of the sculptures. It is located at Lodmoor Country Park and parking is expensive and so we caught the Number 4 bus from the King's Statue in Weymouth. The entrance is situated shortly after Greenhill Gardens.Visited April 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 20 April 2024

Staff very friendly, pleasant young man made a lovely coffee and hot chocolate in the small cafe. Nice little gift shop tooVisited April 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 21 April 2024
- Gaynor91Cardiff, United Kingdom630 contributionsAmazing sculpturesVisited here today, after booking online. I could not believe how amazing the sculptures were. The detail is fantastic! We were given a "quiz paper" when we arrived, just as a bit of fun. It doesn't take long to go around, but thoroughly enjoyed the experience.Visited April 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 27 April 2024

- Ian VEastbourne, United Kingdom63 contributionsReally impressive sand sculptures!I visited Sandworld today after visiting Weymouth for the first time since I was like 12. I thoroughly enjoyed Sandworld, the sand sculptures are amazing! I was offered a quiz by a friendly lady at the front desk, however I politely declined but it was nice to be offered it. I felt the entrance fee was a little pricey for something that took me about 10 minutes to walk round on my own, but frankly with the quality of the fantastic sand sculptures, I didn’t really mind 🙂Visited May 2024Travelled soloWritten 30 May 2024
- Katrina StringerOxford, United Kingdom57 contributionsNice day out for young familiesOverall we enjoyed the sand world and it's a great place to take under 5s. It is quite small as others have said. I can see why if you don't have children you'd not spend very long here as we spent ages in the play sand pit and the sand art part . The café was understaffed,I'm not sure why one of the staff from reception couldn't help the poor guy who was having to run the shop and do sand talks to customers, this caused us to wait a long time to be served at the café. I liked how detailed the sun art was and it was very impressive. It's unfortunate that there's no toilets available though as this makes nappy changes quite tricky. I'd recommend this to families with children.Visited June 2024Travelled with familyWritten 27 June 2024
- Hayley S1 contributionGreat family timeAnother great trip to Sandworld after visiting 3 years ago. Such a fun place for kids and adults. The manager Jo was exceptional and really made our visit special, thanks for your help making a sand penguin!! - Lucy TIsle of Wight, United Kingdom1,718 contributionsAmazing intricate artistryI was amazed as the intricate artistry of the sculptures. All of them were great and I enjoyed taking part in the quiz whilst going round and even got some free sweets! Not a huge place, takes about an hour to take it all in, but well worth a visit.Visited September 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 18 September 2024
- Janet T1 contributionWeymouth’s hidden gemThis venue is a hidden gem in Weymouth and provides a delightful family experience. The sand sculptures themselves are huge and impressive and children love the experience of hands on sculpting. There are 2 sand areas, one for younger bucket and spade play and a very organised area for learning the sand tricks from the delightfully friendly staff. The young owner, who is taking the old family business forward, imaginatively includes additional resources and related activities e.g. small cafe and sand craft ideas . I took my 2 grandchildren, ages 6 years and 12 years and we stayed 4 hours !! Speaks for itself and very cost effective 😊😊😊Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 17 November 2024

The sand sculptures are really impressive and the artists who have created them are very talented. I have read the reviews that say the entry price is too expensive but I think most things are really and you do save a bit of money if you book online. It was something different for us to do while we were staying in Weymouth and we enjoyed doing the quiz. We took our time walking round and looking at all the sculptures and taking photos so I do feel we got our money's worth.

Pleasant surprise, read reviews and not expecting much, it was small ish but to be honest it was great. Very accessible. If you do the quiz and try the activities it is great fun and more to it than meets the eye. The sculptures are excellent and are changed to ensure remain of interest, some quite topical. A small cafe in the area, no toilets but they are free and within 50m of the park. Parking is pay and display but if you use the just park app you can extend the time easily should you need to. Rain or shine would recommend, as next to other indoor and outdoor activities like sea life and crazy golf, Lodmoor is quite good all round. If you took younger children and they had a go allow a couple of hours.

The sculptures are absolutely fantastic, the facial expressions on characters absolutely spot on. Each display must have taken hours of work, but they change the sculptures quite frequently so you could go once a year and probably see new ones each time. It was nice to look at the display board with photos of previous exhibits. A little expensive for what takes about 20-30 minutes to walk around and take photos (probably more time required in the school holidays) but a very enjoyable and unique experience.

The sand sculptures are fantastic - really amazing, however it takes you about 30 mins max to walk round. The ticket price is £8.95, with a £1 off if you pre-book. The family tickets are more reasonable but if you are a family of adults it is far too expensive. In the current economic climate it is utterly unreasonable to charge a family of 6 adults over £50 for half an hour experience. Yes they have sandpits for the kids but nothing other than the sculptures for adults. Read the reviews, if everyone is saying it's too expensive - it is!! Charge less and we'd come more often.

This is a place for families with children. We went on the recommendation of trip advisor as a fantastic installation for all ages - it isn't.
Most of the sculptures were aimed at younger people and there simply isn't enough for the price you pay. We paid £20 and spent 15 mins walking around looking at TV and cartoon characters. There is a big sandpit area for kids to play - but little else.
It is a poorly conceived place with the main object being to optimise on other products for sale and a horrible cafe.

Great place to visit with amazing sand sculptures. Friendly staff, sand play area for children. Kids can create their own sand art at an additional cost, which was great fun. Worth a visit.

Decent sculptures, not worth the money though unless you have small kids, basically a rip off. We went together as it kept coming up as a thing to do in the area and spent £19.50 for 2 people for a 10 minute long viewing of some admittedly decent sculptures that are completely overshadowed by how over priced it is. You're maybe looking at £5 a heads worth of entertainment. I can see how it might be almost worth the time if you have little kids that like playing in the sand pits, but you can do that for free at a beach.
Also very put off as when we went through the negative reviews to see if maybe we'd just gone on an off day, we could see their responses to reviews were very unprofessional and rude, completely dismissive of genuine complaints. If they're reading this, in the tourist industry you need to listen when multiple people have the same issue because that means you need to addres it. If you want to say 'fake review' as I can see you're fond of doing, I have attached a picture of my receipt so you can't say that.

Loved this place. The sand sculptures were amazing and we mooched about looking at them for much longer than expected. The Ukraine tribute was particularly good. The girls loved doing the quiz which gave us a reason to go back around. They also loved making their sand art (£4 extra each) and then spent ages in the sand pit area creating their own sculptures. Something that carried on on the beach the next day they were so inspired.
The key to place is the exceptional staff who are young but full of enthusiasm with lovely natural customer service skills rarely seen these days.
We felt it was appropriately priced (compared to the mind blowing cost of the next door sea life centre or the tiny museums in Dorchester we got much more out of it) and we’re happy to support such a unique and lovely place.

Small but fab! The prices are reasonable and as with everything it is what you make of it. We were greeted by a friendly staff member and she offered for us to do a quiz as we walked around (with a prize of sweeties how could we refuse? ) we were also told to count the flounder (little mermaid fishy friend) pictures around the site to see how many there were as part of the challenge. Our 3yr old LOVED doing this part while myself and my husband read the interesting boards about the sculptures and answered the quiz. The Sculptures are fantastic and we marvelled at the details they all have.
There was a sand pit play area for the kids, a small Café with a seating area indoors and a sand art station. We did this before we left, my daughter did a multi coloured sand lion and i did a seashell. You pick your design and pay for your chosen animal or shell to fill at the Café. We had fun doing that, and handed our quiz in at the shop at end and yes we won our sweeties haha.
You can easily go around it in 15 minutes if you just look at the sculptures without taking the time to read about the artists, or do the fun and challenging quiz. But it's way more fun to take your time and take part in the activities. We spent an hour there in total, not including enjoying the Café or the sand pit for our daughter because we had to go and check out of our hotel, but you can easily spend 1/2hrs here with kids

Took us a while to find this place, we eventually did as we had to go in at the signs for sea life and then when you park up we were still trying to find this sculpture park. It was by the sea life to the left b4 you see the sea life centre. We were very amazed at the different types of the sculptures that were there in all i think we were there at least hour n half that's with visiting the cafe for a drink, that was bit expensive the cafe not much in the gift shop so we did not buy. Would visit one more time with family to show the sculptures but probably won't again unless they improve
