Reserve on the outskirtrs of Weymouth (1.5km) with a very easy flat walk along the promenade to get to. Local car parking also provided. A circular path from the car park is suitable for wheelchairs and is approximately 2 miles. Few information boards. Lots of views of the birds on the various lakes and a very pleasant and quiet walk.... More

We were staying at the Premier Inn and popped over to RSPB Lodmoor for a quick look on the way back from somewhere else. We were amazed how quiet it was and what an amazing range of bird life it had. Wished we could have spent more time there - well worth a trip!

My wife and I visited her a couple of times during our stay in Weymouth. Park at the pay and display car-park near the entrance, height restriction, or at the nearby Lodmoor Country Park pay and display. A couple of hours is sufficient to complete the circular route. Although there are no hides there is an open small 'Pavilion' at... More

This reserve is a little bit of the countryside within sight and sound of a busy road and neighbouring houses. We saw a great many birds, including the lesser whitethroat, great crested grebe, little grebe, pochard, shoveler, tufted duck, long-tailed tit, and more. Early returning swallows and martins whizzed through the sky. There were a few insects about, in spite... More

I visited Lodmoor when I was in Weymouth to go to the sealife centre. It was to the usual standard that I have come to expect from an RSPB place. Nice and tidy with several areas to rest and watch the wildlife I saw cormorants, robins, gulls, various ducks and some geese It isn't anything special that will make me... More

OK, so it is pot luck what is there, and when, but if you are a photographer, bird watcher or walker this is a lovely place. Several ponds/lakes surrounded by reed beds. There is a car park right next to it - the Beach Car Park. It is off the esplanade. It is signposted from the West, but not the... More
