Winner of the Gold award for best attraction in the South-west 2012, Exmoor Zoo has become an ideal family day out. The zoo has established a good rapport with the North Devon community and offers a very hand on experience for all its visitors.Activities run throughout the day (every half hour in summer), you get to meet a bird eating spider, hold a snake, feed wallabies (under supervision), meet some of the zoos friendly furry animals and of course go to all the talks and feeding sessions (if you can)!Home to the “Exmoor Beast” (a pair of black leopards), Puma, Cheetah, Maned wolves, monkeys and lots of other unusual animals like Tamandua, Fishing cats, Tapir, Singing dogs and Binturong to just name a few! The zoo is a living place with changes all the time; no visit is ever quite the same.Useful information:• Disabled access (wheelchair provision and scooter hire)• Activities through out the day• Cafeteria• Children’s playground• Undercover picnic areas• Zoo trail.

I've been to a few zoos here and there, but this one is truly excellent for all sorts of reasons. Firstly, the entrance fee is very reasonable and not high like many others that put you off going very often. This entrance fee is such that you simply would go without further consideration. Secondly, the staff are fantastic. Young, knowledgable... More

Spur of the moment visit with our 4 year old, we all had a great time even though it was freezing! Lots to see and the highlight was the snake handling, the young lady who delivered the session was brilliant and very good with our son. We shall visit again in the summer :)

We came here on a bitterly cold Monday. Price very reasonable. A good mix of animals and very well laid out. Plenty of room for the animals. The Exmoor beast are beautiful to look at, absolute stunning cats. Had a lovely bacon roll in the cafe, and a cup of coffee to warm up. Well worth a visit.

Decided to take my three children out for the day and ended up here. I use a mobility scooter and found the zoo to be quite accommodating to it, had no trouble getting around! A nice mix of animals and small cats! The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves throughout the day trip and lived the show n tell of snakes and... More

We went as a group of four adults, and had a great time. There was plenty going on throughout the day with lots of scheduled feeding times, and animal encounters. The staff were very engaging and knowledgable, and were very good at involving adults and children (at some other attractions all the talks are simply aimed at children). There were... More

Visited last weekend - the weather was truly awful - heavy rain most of the day - but we didn't let that stop us! We arrived in the afternoon and due to the weather we were pretty much the only people there, which was fabulous as we were able to walk round and see pretty much everything. We were really... More

We're local to the area so have been a couple of times with our young son. We really like it here. You can wander about quite happily looking at all the animals. There is a really lovely outside play area with picnic spot nearby which our son loves. You have the opportunity to go inside some enclosures at various times... More

You do not have to walk large distances to see the animals like some zoos great network of paths lead you round the charges. The talks from the keepers at feeding time was excellent. If you happened to pass a compound when a keeper was cleaning the animals they would gladly explain about their charges. The keeper in charge of the birds at...
