On holiday and saw the advert to hire bikes and cycle the Tarka Trail. Bit windy and a bit wet, but we loved it. Comfy bikes. Friendly, informative owners. Helmets, repair kit and basket inc. Beautiful scenery, lots of places to eat and drink. We did half a day (4hrs) and haven’t cycled much in the last year or too, but managed a good distance past Torrington. We really liked being off the busy roads. A couple of Ibrufen and a glass of🍷 helped the aches 👍 Would definitely recommend this business

Excellent bike ride following south Tarka trail on beautiful sunny day today. Electric bikes reserved several months ago but all ready and waiting for us this morning at reasonable price of £35 for whole day. Loved the trail through woods and by estuary and thankfully not to busy. Great lunch stop at Torrington at puffing billy. Thank you for a really enjoyable day!

Today, my son was accidentally dropped off at Barnstaple train station. He’s only 12 years old and has additional needs. Without a phone and unable to speak to his taxi driver, he panicked. Fortunately, he found the courage to enter Tarka Trails bike hire, and I’m so glad he did. He managed to speak to Rob, who worked there, and explain his situation. Rob called me and kept my son safe, offering him biscuits and a warm, dry place to stay while we arranged his journey home, which was over an hour away by car. Rob's kindness, courtesy, and outstanding customer service were truly remarkable. People like him are rare nowadays, and businesses like Tarka Trails should be commended for their exceptional efforts in supporting and caring for those in need. Thank you, Rob—you turned what could have been a much worse situation into a safe and positive experience for my son!

We hired two e-bikes to do the Devon coast to coast over 2 days. Tim was extremely helpful from the first moment of contact. He met us with the bikes at our hotel in Ilfracombe, ran through how the bikes worked, how to charge them, all accessories including bike repairs kit, locks. Each bike had two new panieers. Tim transferred our luggage to our hotel in Hatherleigh and then collected it again and they met us in Plymouth at the end of the day to collect the bikes. They were extremely helpful, patient with all my changes (!) and contactable at all times. Definitely 5 stars

We (2 adults and 2 kids ages 8 and 9) had a great time on the Tarka trail today. We hired fantastic bikes from Tarka bikes and were provided with sturdy locks and repair kit (thankfully not needed!) included in the price. Thanks particularly to Aaron who kitted us out and gave us very helpful advice. We wanted a relaxed day so cycled from Barnstaple to Instow beach and back which is an easy flat cycle even for little legs. We saw lots of incredible scenery and wildlife. Stopping for a cream tea (and play on the pirate playground) at Farmington tea is highly recommended.

Cannot praise this bike hire business highly enough! We’d never ridden e bikes before and they were so helpful, friendly and accommodating. We went from Barnstaple to Bideford and back and absolutely loved it-I wish we had the Tarka Trail on our doorstep! Thank you so much! We’ll be back.
