Have been to poplar tree coffee shop a couple of times now. The hot chocolate is lovely and the scones are very good but first visit was better than the return trip. Lovely coffee rooms though and well worth a visit for just coffee or a meal.

The coffee shop sells delicious cakes as well as sustaining lunches. The garden centre sells high-quality plants and a selection of gardening sundries and gifts. There is a good-sized car park.

Me and my grandchildren popped in her for a drink and biscuit each, like a lot of places that get lots of good reviews they believe their own press. Our bill was nearly £30 and when my grand daughter went upto the counter for some milk to cool her drink down they ignored her, I then went up and they... More

I ordered "Hot Beef Sandwich" ....Disappointing to note it was "packet beef" bought from a supermarket and was only just warmed ! However it does come with a portion ice cold salad and a small jug of hot gravy !! Coffee or drinks are served immediately (no chance to say "can we have drinks with meal"and if you don't drink... This place is in an idyllic country village. Perfect location with free onsite parking. However, the menu and food are fairly average, the scones we had were burnt and the salad that accompanied our meal was limp and very basic. The worst thing about this place is most definitely the staff, who are generally sour faced and lacking in customer... More

Not very impressed with food at all, I ordered a cheese savoury sandwich, which came with side salad, the bread was stale and the salad a bit limp

Been coming to this garden centre for a few years, however when looking at the cakes and scones recently they don't look as good as they were. I notice the last three times I have tried the scones they are getting like a biscuit. I do hope they improve as the surroundings are nice.

Went for afternoon tea as a late birthday celebration it was very disappointing. Firstly we were never asked for teas and coffees my friend had to go to the waitress and ask for them. The scone I had was disgusting tasted more like a very bland biscuit with too much cream to try and disguise the taste. From photos on... More
