    Incredible day out for all
An amazing experience from start to finish. Greeted by a helpful and polite gentleman on the reception who informed us of what’s events were happening throughout the day, and gave us free entry tickets due to bad weather! The farm was amazing — plenty to do and all staff were so friendly. The highland cow experience was the highlight of the day and certainly lived up to expectations. Rabbits and chicks to hold, animals to feed, plenty of outdoor spaces and play parks and a decent jacket potato from the Highland Cafe. 10/10 all round, especially the staff
Thank you very much for the 5* Review! We are pleased to hear the highland cow experience was the highlight of your visit. Thank you for the feedback regarding our staff too, we always strive to give our visitors the best experience so it's great to receive 10/10 all round feedback.

    A great day out!
Visited Hall Hill for the very first time yesterday as part of a birthday party. Lots to do and see and we ended up staying all day as three year old did not want to leave. He loved the crazy golf, softplay, feeding the goats and lambs and of course the bouncy pillows.
Thank you for leaving us such a lovely review! It's great to hear your little one had such an action packed day at our farm. We hope you get chance to visit us again in the near future. Keep an eye out for our upcoming special events!

    Hall hill farm review
We originally came just to see the highlands but we quickly fell in love with all the other animals too. My daughter is 14 so too old for the play areas but these looked great for the younger children. We fed goats, sheep, donkeys, ponies and alpacas, My daughter held a chick and fed a lamb. We then went for something quick to eat. We were served quickly and the food was with us quick too, it was nice to see that the food and drinks here weren’t overpriced. Most places are these days. We had a really lovely day.
Thank you very much for leaving us 5 stars! We are delighted to hear you both had a lovely visit to our farm and enjoyed all the animal experiences. You've captured some beautiful photographs of our animals! Thank you also for the positive feedback regarding the food and drink that we serve on site at our Highland Cafe. It's really appreciated.

    A great day out
After following the farm on Facebook since a few years, we decided that it’s time to see Hall Hill Farm with our own eyes. It was a great day out, the team is so friendly and welcoming, the farm is clean and all the animals can be seen up close, some can be fed and stroked. Plenty to do for young children but even for adults, feeding lambs and Highland Cows is enjoyable. Farmer Richard and his team made us feel very welcome. I have nothing negative to say and would definitely recommend a visit.
Thank you for the fabulous review Nadine. It's so lovely to hear you have been following our farm journey on facebook and then came to visit us in person. Thank you for recommending us to others. Hopefully see you again in the near future.

    Lovely all round 🥰
Visited on a rainy day with elderly parents and teenager children. I was so impressed, beautifully kept farm and animals, lots of timed activities to get involved in and very friendly staff. Wish we lived closer and were able to visit more often!

    Lovely day for young children
A lovely five hours spent here on a cloudy day. At just over £40 for a family ticket, I thought it was very good value for money compared to similar days out. My children particularly loved the bouncy pillows, soft play and various slides. I’d say these attractions are best for under 10s. We all enjoyed the animal cuddles! Staff were all absolutely lovely and the gift shop was reasonably priced. The whole place felt clean and well maintained with plentiful toilets and hand washing facilities. The only small issue I had was sometimes bigger children/teens would take over an area (eg the bouncy pillow) throwing the rubber bits at each other and pushing each other around with little regard for smaller children - it’s a shame some other parents can’t keep a bit of an eye on their big kids. Regardless, I’m sure we will return!
Thank you very much for leaving us a 5* review! We always strive to give our visitors the best experience so it's great to receive such great feedback and that you are planning a return visit!

    Lovely day out !
Lovely day out for my little boy. We had such a fantastic day, my little boy loved the mix of activities and animals. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Everything is clean, animals are well looked after. Genuinely one of the nicest days out we had over the summer holidays and will be back again very soon I am sure.

    Fantastic Day Out for Kids
We booked our family ticket online, very easy and beneficial to pick your arrival time, well worth the £42 for a family ticket, 2 adults and 2 children. There is a great variety of animals, goats, sheep, highland cattle, wallabies, donkeys etc, There is a timetable of events which is useful to check on arrival including lamb feeding and the entertaining sheep racing. The petting areas are great for the children with the chicks and the rabbit areas excellent to sit and have a hold. There also great hand washing areas throughout the farm for after feeding the animals, don’t forget to buy you food at the shop on the way in for £1 a bag. There are plenty of activities and play areas suitable for different ages and a great soft play area inside the cafe, the cafe also has good toilet facilities. The tractor ride and the barrel train were the favourites for our twin 3 year old grandsons. A great day out for all the family in a friendly and clean environment.
Thank you very much for the lovely review! It's great to hear you all had a great day out at Hall Hill and that the barrel train and tractor ride was a firm favourite with your grandsons. We hope to see you again in the near future!

Magical afternoon, excellent start to Christmas festivities.

Don't tell anyone, but, Hall Hill Farm has it all, snow, elves, tractor rides whilst listening to Christmas carols, Santa, and of course all the animals. The farm was not too busy, just enough people around to enable you to enjoy your day, this allowed us to do everything they had to offer. Kids loved the snow, and making the reindeer food, (which they got to take home for Christmas Eve) they appreciated the gifts from the elves, they loved feeding all the animals especially the little pony he/she has a really cheeky character. And of course the visit to see Santa, (very short que) first you spend "personal bubble" time with a talking reindeer - YES - it talks, this kids were overwhelmed they loved it, then you get to sit in Santa's sleigh, then you spend time in Santa's living room, and get to sit in his chair ! and then you visit Santa himself who is sitting outside next to the outdoor log burner all cosy and warm, you spend personal time with Santa too and he delivers the kids a gift in a basket on a pully - just magical. Even though it was raining it didn't dampen the day, the mud added to the fun. Thanks Hall Hill Farm, we will definitely book again next year.

We have an annual pass, and although it is not cheap it is good value if you go regularly as we do.
The attraction is run extremely professionally both in "normal" times and during Covid restrictions.
All the staff have a friendly and helpful manner. I cannot find the words to praise them enough.
You are allowed to bring your own food to both the external picnic area and also into the Tea Barn which a lot of attractions don't allow.
Keep up the good work!!

Great family day out, well worth the money, lots to see an do. There was something for everybody. Got to handle rabbits, guinea pigs and chicks, feeding the lambs was amazing. Great cafe also somewhere to have a tea/coffee while the kids play in the softplay which caters for all ages. Will certainly be visiting again. Everything included in the price except the barrel train which only cost £1 each.

First time visiting hall hill farm with my 5 year old son. We both thoroughly enjoyed it. Highlight has to be the sheep race. Do not miss. They tap the gates for the farmer to open. As soon as they gates are open they rave down to the feeder at the bottom. Great fun. Lots of animals to see. My son really enjoyed holding the Guinea pigs, rabbits & baby Chicks. Feeding the lambs with the bottle of milk was also great. Definitely be taking my son back. Gift shop has lots for the kids to buy. Not badly priced either. Only down side I would say is the cafe. Was only one lady serving. After waiting 15 minutes we gave up and just went elsewhere.

Brilliant day out at Hall Hill Farm today. Not too busy and loads to do. Visited quite a few years ago and there has been some big improvements. The central children's play area is now multi story wooden forts and the bouncing area is a laugh for all the family. There is a cafe in the soft play barn which I much prefer as there is much more space and excellent views over the valley.
Well worth a visit.

A hugely popular animal attraction in County Durham offering plenty to do on a family day out. On first impression we thought it was quite expensive for a family of four to get in but after spending a lovely 3 or 4 hours there it clearly was money well spent. Lots to do and lots to see with many delightful (and importantly happy looking) animals all around. My grandson particularly enjoyed been allowed to pet the rabbits, guinea pigs and chicks. He also loved the chance to feed the sheep, donkeys and goats. The mini golf, sheep racing and water fights were also a delight for him. All in all, a lovely afternoon out was had by all, young and old.

Visited here whilst on holiday staying in nearby Witton Gilbert . This was the favourite day of everyone’s holiday. The staff were super friendly. The animal handling was really enjoyed by our 6 and 12 year old-rabbits, Guinnea pigs and chicks. Kids also loved feeding the sheep, goats, donkeys, alpacas and milking the pretend cow. They had great fun on the barrel ride and the tractor ride . They loved the outdoor play equipment. We liked the little
Cafe in the barn (main one was shut due to
Covid) and the kids played golf. Also went on the Toboggan ride. Such fun. We are returning on Holiday next year and hope
It is open In April 🤞🏻

We have visited hall hill farm at least a few times a year since my eldest (now 4 y/o) son was born. We always have a fantastic time, but today I was especially impressed by the organisation and couldn't leave without writing a review.

It was the busiest I've ever seen it today, on bank holiday Monday, but everything was so slick that it never felt crowded. The tractor and trailor seems to have been recently upgraded, and the newly extended cafe looked lovely inside.

The staff are fantastic, an absolute credit to the owners, and actually, we saw "Farmer Richard" multiple times in different areas throughout the day, always busy, he clearly cares deeply about his business.

Highlights for us are the play barn, the outdoor play frames and the small animal petting areas. We love the special events throughout the year, with Halloween a particular highlight; we also intend to visit for Christmas this year.

Great to hear you are regular visitors to our farm. We are delighted you were impressed by the organisation, our staff work hard to make sure all visitors have a great experience. You are right, we have just upgraded to a bigger tractor trailer ride so it seats more visitors. Thank you also for the lovely comment on our newly extended highland cafe. Hopefully see you at our Halloween and Christmas event!

Great place. Bought my daughter an Alpaca for a year adoption kit for her 17th Birthday so we visited today with 2 of her friends. Proved to be a hit for a bunch of grown ups we all had such fun watching the sheep race and feeding all the animals.
