A lovely green space, basking in today’s glorious sun. Palace Green is in the centre Durham’s peninsula, with the castle on one side and the cathedral on the other. Enjoy the UNESCO world heritage views.

Lodged between the Cathedral and the Castle, this place gets very busy with students sunbathing while studying or relaxing when it gets warm and sunny.

This is a beautiful space which every visitor will want to see as it gives access to the Cathedral and the Castle plus the Library and the Visitor Centre is close by. The green sometimes is the venue for events.

The central area of the peninsula, the castle on one side and the cathedral on the other. Come to Palace Green to take in the view, have a picnic or just transit to one of the other UNESCO sites.

This location provides access to historic gems, Durham Cathedral and Durham Castle plus a library and museum. None should be missed. There is also a super eatery.

This is well worth the visit, it a beautiful setting for Durham Cathedral. It's a bit of a walk up the hill and possible difficult for anybody walking problems.
