This museum is in a converted church and the dampness of the church hangs in the air which gives the place a somewhat faded feel. The exhibits are good with some surprises but there is a sense of a lack of coherency at times. Not...More

This museum occupies what I suppose is an old church. It is really rather small and too cramped so It is not the easiest museum to navigate but there is lots to see of local interest. Helpful staff.

it's quaint and provincial no doubt but it gives a beautiful taste of Durham culture and a real insight into the history. Perhaps don't expect anything too grand or exciting but be ready to learn.
