Well worth taking the time to look around Durham Cathedral and Castle if you're in Durham. There are regular tours, but best to do a Castle Tour during University holidays (when the student's aren't there), as the Castle is also the university's halls of residence....More

Illustrated Gospels are superb, although temporary exhibits can be expensive. Great to see these things "in the flesh".

What an opportunity to view a document created and maintained in the northeast of England - shame it was vandalised by Henry 8th to acquire jeweled covers, the visit as per usual is well presented by the staff at the Palace Green Library

The gospels were in the library for a short time last year. The exhibition was well laid out and the signing was informative. because there was restricted room it was necessary to book a time to visit. The museum staff were not permitted to turn...More

This was an amazing exhibition. Well laid out and loads of interactive things for children to take part in as well as we older children. When will we ever see the Gospels again in the NOrth.
