It's not cheap but it's very good, especially via Greenway. We are not generally creatures of habit, but you know what we've travelled 2-3 times a year for the last 17 years we've had a holiday home bu Goodrinton Station and our friends/ family who we've taken, always enjoy the trip and go again under their own steam (pun intended-... We have visited the steam railway many times over the years, since I was a child. The trip is always pleasant. It's worth paying the extra supplement to sit in the belle car which has amazing views and very comfortable seating.

The lure of steam, nostalgia at it's best, very British, and a practical way to get to Dartmouth from Torquay. A quick river crossing to the town for a days gallery browsing with a lunchtime snack at the Sloping Deck cafe. A coffee at Kingswier station was unpleasant though, tasted burnt! Christmas specials run for little ones in December.

The smell of steam and the sound of the puff and blow of the engine, takes you back to an era of more sedate travel. The route takes you along the beach side, over a great Brunel viaduct and through the green fields down to Kingswear, where you can take a ferry over to Dartmouth. Its clean and well kept,... More
