Lovely gardens

We enjoyed a visit to see Oldway Mansion whilst on holiday in Torquay recently. The building is amazing, such a shame it can't be used in some way as either a hotel or apartments... read more

The gardens are lovely, well laid out and pretty. The car park was full of litter, and the entrance smelled of wee! The inside of the building is mostly marble, and is cold and unwelcoming. Some historic artifacts there but not very well laid out. Disapointing.

Our family paid for a silver birch tree to be planted on the verge on the entrance drive into Oldway in 1992 in memory of our daughter who we lost that year. It had no commemorative plaque as we were advised that this would attract vandals but it has just been cut down to a stump presumably by Torbay Council... More

We have friends staying with us from Bath, and they had heard that Oldway was closed down and in poor condition. We took them to see, they just couldn't understand how any authority could let this happen. SUCH A SHAME

We enjoyed a visit to see Oldway Mansion whilst on holiday in Torquay recently. The building is amazing, such a shame it can't be used in some way as either a hotel or apartments. The gardens are kept well by the local council. Predominant users of the grounds are dog walkers, it's a shame some of them let others down... More

Nice views from the pub on the harbour but was cold and raining when we arrived so didn't really get to appreciate it.

When this was opened visited a few times as very Fasinating due to the Family History even then it was falling in to disrepair. I do believe a more Open Council would Treasure this Building , and Embrace the fact it could be brought back to life. Make a Perfect Hotel , could be enjoyed by many many people ,... More

This once beautiful mansion is now falling to ruin due to lack of maintenance. never mind its' history - its an absolute scandal that it is no longer open and heads should roll at the Torbay Council for allowing the decline to continue. Long gone is the lovely little tea shop. The gardens were ok - not a patch on... More

You can no longer go inside this beautiful building which was owned by the SINGER FAMILY. You can walk the grounds but not as lovely as they were

A great place by the looks of it's outside. It's not open to see inside, which is a huge shame, because it seems like a real interesting place. We were appalled, when the tourist attraction bus just passed by on the near street without even slowing down to acknowledge this mansion, let alone let people out to see it. The... More
