    The best birthday party EVER!
We had my daughter's birthday party there last Saturday (during the Torbay Airshow) and we couldn't have been happier! The entire experience was stress free for us parents, and exhasuting splashy fun for the kids. Sophie was our party host and did everything so that we didn't have to - sorted the wristbands, arranged slushies, sorted out food orders etc. Every single member of staff we encountered was extremely helpful and friendly, and a credit to the company. The new section that has just been built for the littler kids looked amazing, but our lot were far too busy on the big slides! Although it was a windy day, the sun was out and the queues were short - the kids said there were virtually no queues, just full on sliding! We will absolutely be doing this again next year for her birthday, and will deifinitely be retuirning during the summer this year. Thanks everyone at Splashdown for making the whole experience such a memorable (and stress free) one. Can't wait to get back there!

    Truly Amazing
This water park is truly amazing! Although it’s not very big, it offers several great activities. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, making the experience even better. There’s a spacious area, and they have a separate water park section just for kids. I highly recommend this place. It’s located right next to the beach with an amazing view, making it a fantastic destination.

Pirate bay plus wheelchair access into water.
The new pirate bay splash area for young kids with slides is huge and fantastic. Shallow water all-round with water jets, fals, slides etc. Really cool and as a wheelchair user I could roll into the water and play with her.

It was great and it's now even better
Second time coming here (first same time last year). It's really great. And the improvements this year are fantastic! Lots more places to sit and relax if you aren't participating. A great new area for younger children. Always superbly clean and ample parking close by. Highly recommended.

Great fun for adults and children
We have been before and visited as a group of 3 adults and there was plenty to do in our 2 hour session. There are quite a few slides so, even though 2 groups of school children arrived at the same time as us, we didn't have to wait long. The staff were friendly and helpful and there were plenty on hand. We brought the meal deal in advance which gave us a wristband and meant we didn't have to worry about sorting money out at the end. The meal deal was slightly cheaper in advance and the food was nice although if you're having tea, don't get the deal as it ends up costing more. It would be better if the spectator price was a lot cheaper as you're not really getting anything for the money.

    Best attraction in Devon!!
Best day ever! I’ve been coming here since I was little. It’s good to see how much they have invested in the park. When the sun is shining it’s easily one of the best attractions in Devon because it is suitable for ages, I feel as a young adult there’s not much to do in the area that is exciting- but here everyone can have fun. The staff were quality as well, shame I didn’t get any of their names but they are all a credit to the company. Hoping to return as soon possible, didn’t want to go home. Thank you Quaywest for a lovely day! X

Pirate Bay fantastic addition for small children
We visited with our 8 year old and intended on going on the pirate bay area only. We purchased a child ticket for her and spectator tickets for me and my husband which entitled us to also use the pirate bay area only. Fantastic day, love this new area and will visit again. Slides were not to fast for kids and also parents are able to go on them all. They are really fun even for adults. Only feedback is to add more sun loungers all the way round the side and back of pirate bay please. The wooden benches are really uncomfortable. Failed to get a sun lounger the 2 hours we were there.

Cost overshadowed good time - won’t be returning
£50 for adult and child for 4 hours….. really? First timers. Wet day so opted for wet fun. Been to various other water parks. Good fun slides. Low que lines great. Nice staff. Daughter loved it 👍 BUT….. Single father and daughter aged 10. Daughter charged adult price ✖️ £24 for 4 hours. Wrong. Add car park at £6.70 £10 if over 4 hours for 24hrs 🙄 Coffee over £4 (higher than high street for costa) Food etc - pushing £100 for day out. Yes life’s for living and not being a tight arse etc get that but if you want people to return which i guess is the point, make it value for money. This left a bad taste and as regular visitors to the area it’s a case of done that not doing it again ta.

    So much fun!
Really enjoyed our 2 hour visit. Visited during a heatwave (luckily) so it was quite busy but it didn’t feel overcrowded. Queues for most rides but all moved quite quickly - longest queues were for the rides with the inflatable rings. Fav ride was the rapids - so much fun! The main pool was also super warm! Disappointed that the new under 12’s areas water was so much colder than the main pool - not that most of the kids enjoying it seemed to care but would be good if it was just as warm! Overall, we had a great time and could have spent more time than the 2 hours we booked but we weren’t sure if our 2 9yr olds would like it or not - but they absolutely loved it! The 1 year old in our group enjoyed the bubbles in the new area but had enough after an hour so feel that the £12.50 price paid for the 1yr old with accompanying adult was a little steep. Would be great to see an additional price band for really young kids however, we felt that £18 for 2 hours (per each 9 and over) wasn’t really that bad value (a lot of money yes, but good value) given the amount of rides that were enjoyed and the warmth of the water - been to indoor water parks that charge just as much but the water is cold! Overall, this was a great activity to do, especially given the heatwave! Would highly recommend!

We have just returned from Quaywest and are absolutely appalled by the lack of safety measures in place here. After reading the website I felt confident to go with my family in the knowledge that we would be as safe as could be expected.....it soon became apparent that they talk the talk but don't walk the walk!!!

Social distancing is non existent here and the new covid secure queuing system is an absolute joke. So rather than walk past the huge queue of people to get to a slide that no-one is going down you are sent back down to stand in a queue amongst crowds of people for a very long time! People were literally shoulder to shoulder on the stairs and queue time was in excess of 30 minutes! Standing less than a metre with no precautions such as face masks etc is ludicrous for that amount of time to point that we were not comfortable to be doing this.

We paid £60 for an afternoon of hell on earth. If you want to pay to catch coronavirus then this is the place to go for sure. Talk about stress and anxiety, not enjoyable whatsoever. Please don't waste your money or out your family at risk by visiting.

We came last year and there was the same amount of people then as there was today. If this is reduced capacity then I dread to think what full capacity is. New outdoor changing area was clean, indoor changing area was awful and to top it off you have to walk through there to get out.

Ps. Added some pictures of the queues so you can see for yourself the total lack of social distancing and non-compliance of being covid secure. Reported to a lifeguard who laughed at me, if that's the attitude of the staff then there's no hope is there!

What a great way to put yourself at risk, all the pre booking was a waste of time as had to queue when arrived.
Inside it was packed and at full capacity with queues to all slides and the pool area too busy to get in.
We left within 30 mins as it was clear that social distancing was not on the agenda or indeed possible with the amount of customers.
The stairs with access to 4 slides was very slow moving as only 1 maybe 2 people were allowed to enter the platform at a time................so although they were attempting to social distance here, all the way down the stairs and along the paths everyone was together because of the horrendous long slow queues.

I attended Splashdown with my wife and 13-year-old son. My wife and me were just sitting and relaxing whilst our boy went off to have fun (which he did by the way, loved it!). Line ups were a bit long, but that's apparent before you go, so be prepared!

The booking process was totally online and the problem we had is that the website doesn't make it clear enough that there IS a spectator fee for ANYONE not using the pools and slides. It is very clear that spectators for children 11 years and younger are accommodated for a lesser fee, but not kids older than that. I paid £54 (£18 x 3) as full payment for all of us to attend with a frown on my face!

When we arrived, all of the young staff were extremely courteous and helpful; well trained and informed, well done! I did ask about the fee and I was directed to a manager to "complain". He did explain to me that there is a way to get the spectator fee on the website, but it was on a separate page and you have to click here and go there and blah, blah, blah.

I did say that if you have to do that, it's not clear enough and he agreed, but that the website is obviously run by head office and he was powerless on that. He did, however, take our booking details and refunded the difference for the wife and me. This was a £21 refund, so significant! Again, he was courteous and helpful all the way through our chat.

Facilities are dated and the toilets/changerooms need some work in particular, but we did notice that the cafe food and beverages were well priced and good value. We had lots of room to sit and sun up.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. I am glad to hear you received great customer service while at Splashdown Quaywest. I am sorry you found our website confusing. The only options available to book are 2 hour, 3 hour and spectating tickets. We feel this is clear, advertising a cheaper rate if you are not going in the water. But we will look at ways to make this clearer to prevent this from happening in the future.

COVID has affected the time you get in the park and you have to prebook. British weather doesn’t make it easy to book to far in advance. We booked the day before and could only get a 2.30 slot and you only get 3 hours in the park. The park isn’t very big and the baby pool is closed. The signs for the slides are not very clear tubes one way mats the other. It doesn’t mention anything about the slides you don’t need either for. The queuing was a bit messy one tower 5 slides 1 queue for one slide 1 queue for the rest but no markings telling you what each queue was. The kids still had a great time as did we. The new changing rooms were a great addition brightly coloured and far less dingy the the other ones

Unfortunately we had bad weather during our visit, and I suspect from reading previous reviews where the weather was scorching, it really does define the enjoyment of this water park. This was the first time I've been in close proximity to others without a mask and I was uncomfortable by this. I believe there were reduced volumes of people overall, which has been made possible by management staggering time slots which is commendable and it was great to see staff still protected by masks.
The park is in desperate need of a facelift, but I fully appreciate the financial strain it's been under over 18 months.
Overall, it was worth going. Our teenagers were in their element, our 17 year old not so much, but our friends younger children were enthused!

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, I am sorry the weather wasn't in your favour during your visit. Despite 'freedom day' we are still continuing to run with our Covid protocols including compulsory online booking, reduced capacities, enhanced cleaning etc. The last 18 months haven't been easy, everyones support since re opening has been much appreciated. We have also been working under a very short lease over the last 10 years making big capital investment projects difficult, however, that looks likely to change very soon due to signing a new long term lease. Please keep an eye on our website and social media channels for updates.

Booked in advance for 2 very sensible 11 year olds ( nearly 12) for 3 hours. At no point did it highlight that under 12s needed an adult with them.
Arrived to be told that they could not go in unless I paid £7 ( which I have just seen has been charged at £7.50 on my card)
I didn’t see the kids as they were mostly queuing but on the slides for the entire time. What an absolute waste of money.
I understand that some kids will need supervision however even with a cut off age of 12 there are irresponsible 12 and older kids that probably do need supervision, just like the group of 4/5 young teens who were throwing chips for the seagulls and over the balcony at people walking below. No members of staff spoke to them to ask them to behave.
It took me a while when I got home to actually find the no under 12 rule on the website. Perhaps this needs to be made more obvious?

Thank you for your feedback. There has to be a cut off somewhere, it would be the same problem whatever age was decided. The adult to child ratio is advertised on both our websites. On our main website it is both in the FAQ's and on the tickets page underneath the prices. On our tickets website it can be found underneath every ticket in the 'Visitors under 12 and spectators' tab. Our spectator admission, as advertised is £7.50pp.

Great slides. I think it was a little short staffed as some on the queues were long and slides not being used efficiently. I lifeguard monitoring 4 slides so 2 had no people using them until the queue was gone for the other 2. Really recommend a wet suit if it isn’t a really hot day. A lot of shivering people when we went. Wet suits are not available for free hire at the moment contrary to the web site info. We booked 3 hours. My 16 year old managed 2.5 before he got to cold without a wet suit. Fun morning though.

I spent £85 to take my kids here for a 3 hour session and I was extremely disappointed. Firstly the changing rooms smelled terrible which was quite off putting when you first walk in. As we walked around the park you couldn’t help but notice the tarmac walkways crumbling and lifting making it very harsh on your feet. Whilst queuing for a slide requiring the use of rubber rings there were multiple people passing through the queue to use the drop slide which had no queue so nobody was bothered by this and the staff were allowing them through. Myself, my friend and our kids decided to do the same when we wanted to use the drop slide. The queue was very very long with people using rings so as we started to make our way we got shouted at by a member of staff and told to wait in line with all the other people who were queuing for a different slide. Reluctantly we waited and eventually when we made it to the top a staff member proceeded to tell us that we were not going to be allowed down the slide as we didn’t queue properly, even tho she had allowed others down previously who went all the way through to the top. We actually queued with everyone else yet we’re still made to walk back down and queue again. Needless to say this ruined our mood quite a lot and considering how long the queues were for the slides (with no social distancing whatsoever) we managed 3 slides in our time there. I want to point out that we had no issue following the rules and once told to stay in one queue we did as asked yet we were still refused entry to the slide. All in all it was a very expensive 3 hours of standing around queuing. Massive waste of money especially considering how dirty and run down the park is.

Great fun and worth a visit - a must for kids/teens alike! As 2 young at heart mature adults we found 2hour slot went super quick and we enjoyed all the slides on offer. Super safety and covid conscious staff with very clean lockers, showers and communal areas. The slides have a magnificent position right at the beach, so fabulous views while you hurtle down the slides. Nice tepid warm water on the slides too so no wetsuits needed! We went on a day that was overcast with threat of rain and it was fairly quiet with absolutely no queues and we zipped around all of the rides nearly 3 times. The kids and younger teens (not ours) seemed to love it as well as their adults too - with shrieks and laughter abound! Great morning out and defo recommend 👍

Due to Covid they are restricting spectators which is fine but they want you to pay full price to watch with no part refund.
Complete rip off so had to wonder round for over 3 hrs while the boys went in.
Inside the park the boys had a great time apart from the burger meal was disgusting.
