Always a warm welcome when ever I pop over to the island. Well kept ales good range of bands on a Friday and some Saturday nights. Lovely beer garden for those warm summer nights.

Horrible nasty owner
Oct 2020 • Family
Was in this pub for a quick drink with my partner and his 2 yound kids under 13 and our dog (as this is meant to be dog friendly) was rolling on her back making a little of noise and the land lady (evil horrible woman) came down and said i do not want this in my bar but didnt even say it to us she said it to her bar man who then replied he will keep an eye on us 🤬 so i handed my near full pint back and said she should not run a pub and i dont want nothing from this place. This pub needs closing down and and the owner sacking or getting rid of.
P.s there was only me my parter and our 2 kids and 2 other guests in the pub at this time and we where in a different room im so angry its unreal 😤

What else is there to say! Beautiful place but the place needs new owners! The landlady was disgustingly rude!!

Barman/Landlord unfriendly. Place smells of damp. Shame. Lovely old building. Needs new owners! Net curtains at rear of property blackened.

Dirty, dark and dingey
Sep 2020 • Family
We dropped in for drinks recently. The barman appeared disinterested. Inside the bar was dark, dingey and dirty. The bar was soaked in stale spilt beer with flies etc flying around due to the smell.
The toilets need a good refurb, the loo was blocked and appeared full of urine.

We drank up and went elsewhere as quickly as we could! Avoid!!

My 50th birthday party
Jan 2020 • Friends
Had a party there in January. The venue was lovely , but the barman was rude and unhelpful. The money spent over the bar that night was probably more than they took over the whole Christmas and New year! Wouldn't even lend me a knife to cut my cake or a spoon to use for the pasta! Shame coz it is a great venue but wouldn't recommend it due to lack of support or care.

Olde Worlde bar

Set in Old Shanklin, at the top of Shanklin Chine.
A thatched roof, old interesting interior and friendly people.
Good service from polite staff.
Well worth a visit

Called in here a couple of times while staying in the area for a few days, a fantastic looking thatched building, just as nice inside, it has four letting rooms to my knowledge, the bar area is very cosy and comfortable, has a few real ales on tap plus a few lagers, all ok, on our first visit a young lad called Sam was looking after the bar, he couldn't have been more friendly, knowledgeable and thoroughly efficient, would make any parent proud . different barstaff on the second visit but all ok. Great establishment generally.

Atmospheric old pub
Sep 2019
Dropped in here after walking up the Chine. Just as olde worldy inside as it looks from the outside, with low ceilings and dark rooms. Very quiet, but the barmaid was friendly and chatty. I had a nice pint of Warsteiner from a white tap. The barmaid was patient with me as I tried to exit into the garden through a door that doesn't open. There's a pleasant L-shaped bit of grassy garden outside. I sat at a table next to a set of stocks, which must come in handy for dealing with troublemakers in the pub.

Miserable land lord, no cappachino, or coffee, even though it mentions it on board outside,
Sep 2019 • Friends
Went to the King Harry's bar this afternoon, on the board out side says Cappachino, Latte, Teas other Coffee's, Hot Chocolate, went inside asked for Cappachinos, don't sell them, only normal coffee, but passed on that, had tea instead, worse service and Tea ever, rude, no mugs, and rubbish milk in little carton, smallest cup ever, won't be going back, shame as nice area,
