Genuine and living history. Very well run antique electric railway like no other. Enjoy the beauty of the island's open countryside and coast, mountains and streams.

It is well worth taking a trip (or 2) on these quaint little carriages which cover large areas of the island. Very reasonably priced, helpful and friendly staff, and a lovely way to enjoy the scenery... The 'ride' can be a bit noisy, draughty, bumpy, but that is part of the charm :-) Lots of options to choose from route/timing... More

A great way to get to Laxey, Ramsey & Snaefell, lovely and relaxing, and good value for money, it also connectes with the horse drawn tram in Douglas

Just love traveling up to Snaefell on the electric railway, the food from the restaurant is fab, lovely day out, views on a clear day to die for, if you haven't experienced it, you haven't lived, it is very special

A beautiful blast from the past, you can really appreciate why people wish to live here. A must do activity for all if you find yourself here. Stunning views with at some points it feels like you are in the sea!

Electric tram is great. Kids love it and its a more sedate way to travel. The tram runs from Douglas to Ramsey and back. during the spring and summer. Passing though Laxey where you can get off and catch another tram up to the highest point of the island, Great views where on a clear day you can see Ireland,... More

Many visitors on the Manx Electric Railway travel from Douglas to Laxey, and then perhaps up the Snaefell Mountain Railway. However, in my opinion, the best bit of the Railway line is the 12 or so miles between Laxey and Ramsey... the route winds along a rocky coastline, travels at the top of steep cliffs, through narrow green wooded glens,... A mate and I after many Isle of Man visits decided to go on the Electric railway up to the Snaefell summit, fantastic views at the top and an interesting journey.

The train runs along the promenade between the buildings and the ocean front. Plenty of stops to get off or on.
