It's a great place and there was loads to do. Apart from the interesting house and beautiful gardens, there were pony rides, birds of prey and a small adventure playground

An amazing hall with small grounds around it. As he main hall is not heated, wrap up warm for winter visits.

The facade looks really good and lead us to expecting something more. The inside although is a huge restoration project was very disappointing as it was more of a building site. I appreciate it was gutted by fire years ago but until there's a little more done I don't think it should be open to the general public. The gardens... More

Although this is an interesting building and the "skeleton" staff do their best to help you enjoy your visit, there is not much left of this building internally due to unrepaired extensive fire damage. Some works appear to be be in place to at least shore up the crumbling upper floors. Cellars are interesting as long as the battery on... More

A lot of the rooms look very bare and empty. I got in for free entry as I am disabled. The cafe is nice on the other hand.

Seaton Delaval is not quite your normal NT House because of the fire in the 19th century. The main house is a lovely paladian style house but the inside is fascinating, not because of the furnishings but because of the fire and the history of the house. The gardens are also excellent and show lots of different features and styles.... More

Spent a morning here in October and thoroughly enjoyed looking around the wing which had originally been built as servant quarters. The staff were very enthusiastic and helpful. It was interesting to walk in the burnt out remains of the main building. The cafe was excellent and the young man in charge very personable. A unique place to visit with... More

This is a grand country residence or rather was! Designed by Sir John Vanbrugh the great English architect it was the home of the Delaval family notorious for their parties and pranks. Today it is exquisite from the outside and the interior is as they say 'work in progress' but the house and grounds are a must visit.

Me and my husband visited this place in October, whilst on holiday. We had a great time and would encourage anyone in the area to pay a visit. The guides were very informative but we would have preferred a tour, something which isn't offered yet. There is something for everyone and it truly is magnificent seen with the extensive fire...
