Great beach for a walk with the kids dogs parents with numerous stops for a coffee snack or meal with a pint, then to the lighthouse. Poor from north Tyneside council as no free parking! And they have wardens out all the time

This place has quite soft stand making it ideal for those wanting to walk barefoot across. Add to that the amazing sea view and it makes a lovely day trip.

A big sprawling, wonderful beach of fine white sand. Fantastic for a day at the seaside but take a coat. The weathers unreliable and the wind can be very cool.

Wouldn't recommend promenade all fenced off and shop/restaurants and pubs in disrepair. More of a ghost town! Go further up the coast to Tynemouth village which is beautiful
