So we had our engagement party there on good Friday. The woman who dealt with my function was Kerry, 4 weeks before the party she messaged me on Facebook to say she couldn't do my catering anymore, offered me a number of a woman who charged 3 times the original price and so I had to sort my own catering out. A couple of weeks before the party she called me to say she was 'stressed out for me incase nobody was there to open the bar for my party.'She agreed for the inconvenience I would get my deposit back at the end of the night. So anyways the party starts, and comes to an end. During the night this Kerry is nowhere to be seen, the man and woman who tended the bar were lovely throughout the night, however at 12.50am just before the party ends Kerry stomps in, starts stamping around the room shouting it was disgusting in front of the remaining guests(there was no mess whatsoever asode from the balloons, it had been a lovely night) she demands the bar closes, and nobody gets anything else. She then started shooing people out of the bar, when she was asked for the deposit back as per one of her many messages to me, she tells me I won't get it until tomorrow. I reminded her that's not what was agreed and she begins to scream and shout at me, so my dad comes to see what is happening and she tells him to shut up. Eventually she stormed out the back and the lovely man from behind the bar comes and apologises with my deposit. I have never ever experienced such disgraceful attitude or behaviour from someone taking such business for a big party before. She was rude to my guests, Caused nothing but stress in the run up to the night and her behaviour was absolutely disgusting. Be wary of booking a party there if Kerry has anything to do with it, such a shame as everyone else was lovely and the room was exactly what you wish for for an event.

We were in Whitley Bay for the weekend. As we were walking our dog on the beach he was set on by a small terrier. We went into this bar as it was the first place we saw that was dog friendly. We had wanted somewhere to check our dog over and the allow him to settle. The young lady there, Perrie was so welcoming. She immediately got our dog some water. The bar is clean and bright. We stayed for a while and as we had felt so welcome earlier we went back that evening and the day after. I would recommend this bar to anyone ( it's also child friendly). There is plenty of room between the tables so you are not all squashed in.

Coming from Hastings, where live music in bars and pubs has long been part of the fabric of the place, it was great to find a proper music venue on our holiday, and a great local rhythm and blues band East Coast Mainline, to go with it. Sited above the Co-Op, we were even treated to some fresh lemon for my good lady's Bacardi and Coke, as the bar had run out earlier. Thanks for that! Friendly atmosphere with people who enjoy proper live music, rather than professional karaoke.

Such an easy going environment with improvements being made constantly. For example the new food menu being served there is such great value for money especially the sunday dinners - they are huge! Really down to earth staff and fab area for darts. My favourite part being how it isnt too commercialised and is still your comfortable local pub with a great atmosphere. I think its great that dogs are welcome especially with it being so near the beach. p.s I heard that they are also going to start introducing cocktails.
