In this fully immersive escape room game set in Captain Blackbeard’s pirate ship, one of Blackbeard’s own crew members has turned on him and left a trail of clues, riddles, puzzles and challenges to help you find the treasure. The aim of the game is to find the treasure and get out within 60 minutes before Blackbeard returns. Pirate Escape is a live escape room game experience. Designed for groups

    Fun afternoon activity
    Fun little activity for family and friends. We went as a group of four to try our hand at Space Pirates (we weren’t confident enough to try the hardest one). Great fun and challenging enough to make you think. Spread over several zones so you weren’t in the same place for the full thing. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would recommend and will be back to try our hand at the tough one.

    Excellent family fun
    Excellent fun at Pirate Escape. We've now done two of their four rooms (Space Pirates and Captain's Vault) and throughly enjoyed them both. Reasonably priced considering the quality of the games and props. Challenging but clues provided where needed. Highly recommend!

    Really well themed and thought out rooms. So good we rebooked for another one later the same day! Definitely up there with some of the best escape rooms we’ve done. Lovely friendly family run business, with a variety of rooms to suit all ages. Would highly recommend.

    Secrets of the Orient
    Visited 11th February 2023 with my partner. We did 'Secrets of the Orient' and what a room!! We've done a fair few escape rooms (including 1 at Pirate previously) and absolutely love them. The theming of the room was fabulous and for the price, it was brilliant. Would highly recommend if you're looking for something different to do than the usual cinema and food combo. It's seriously very fun, and the hour whizzes past without realising.

    Great time doing Space Pirates
    Fantastic escape room. Angela was a very welcoming host and made our experience a brilliant day out with our friends for a birthday treat. We chose the Space Pirates room theme as we were a group of 7. We found it was a lot of fun, unique, and challenging enough for our various skill sets and experiences. Thoroughly delighted to escape and set a new recod time. Thanks for a great time, and we'll certainly be back to try out the other challenges 😀

    Great fun
    Such good fun. I hadn't done an escape room before but my companions had, in Durham. An email was sent before hand, with directions and parking suggestions. Greeted on arrival and all explained. We were shown to our game and final instructions were given. Trying to work out the clues and open padlocks proved to be quite taxing (I only speak for myself) on my brain, and although despite numerous clues we didn't finish in the time, we all had a good time and were still speaking at the end!

Was very disappointed as looked forward to it as friends said they were great fun, But this seemed very unorganised, every room was just chaos, it didn't seem like there was a pattern to the game, if you got lucky and found the right code you got out, by the end they were giving us the answers and none of the answers matched anything we had, every one in tye group had the same opinion and would definitely not go again

I booked The Captains Vault as we were a family of 6 adults and 3 had done escape rooms before.
Everyone was able to join in solving different clues, good team building and lots of fun.
Would recommend going.

Brilliant first experience which really got us all thinking. Thoroughly enjoyed it; we completed “The mutiny” which was perfect for the first time. We will definitely do this again

We escaped 'The Mutiny' and had great fun

The wife and I have done loads of escape rooms around where we live so wanted to introduce the kids to them too. We found Pirate Escape while on holiday in Whitley Bay so booked The Mutiny Room for the 4 of us as its their easiest room, we didnt want it to be too difficult and put the kids off doing any more! The rooms were well thought out and the difficulty level was spot on for our mix of experience. I think it still would've been a good challenge for complete beginners though. Both kids were able to get involved and using teamwork we were able to escape with the treasure in just over 42 minutes. There is the option of clues if you find yourself completely stuck! The staff are friendly and helpful. We will definitely come back if we visit Whitley Bay again. Highly recommended for familes and adult groups alike.

It was literally the best place I’ve ever been to. I’ve been twice and I loved it the rooms aren’t too hard nor too easy either so if was the perfect difficulty I loved this place and the staff are amazing and really kind they were they nicest staff I’ve ever met :>

Had a brilliant time doing the mutiny escape room. Very friendly staff and they explained everything really well. The room was amazing and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
