My husband and I took the storied scenic drive on the Mother Road Route 66 between Flagstaff and Kingman. The scenery along this segment is fantastic. The road itself was in good condition with a wide shoulder for cyclists, but it is the changing landscape...More

As the entire route no longer exists you can only truly drive on certain original sections. Most of the bits we drove on were through some back road towns, which are clinging to the Route 66 mantle but in truth are struggling. I enjoyed the...More

We took as much of the old Route 66 route as we could find using a guide book. We stopped at many of the iconic sights, and had a great time. We could not have done it properly with the guide book so make sure...More

A very scenic ride through New Mexico and Arizona. Nice scenic stops in the middle of the desert. Quite a few campgrounds and family owned motels along the route. Very historical road.

We’ve traveled chunks of Route 66 in various states from northern to southwestern. Some places are very cool with lots of interesting sights and venues. However be forewarned that there are vast stretches of Route 66 with absolutely nothing to see, which may make you...More
