Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Found this place on our second day on the island and have returned again. Choice of pitch and putt or putting courses, ideal for the whole family. Very friendly, serve a range of teas coffees cake milkshakes etc and if you’re not playing with all the family there’s a super seating area outside in the sun. Recommended for a fun couple of hours and support a local business!

Great fun, good value, fantastic service. Heather was super, going above and beyond. I lost my watch playing golf yesterday, it’s been handed in and Heather’s promised to post it as we’re back on the mainland.

Wow! What an injection of enthusiasm and energy can do in the form of New owners.
Came here 18 months ago and thought I had gone back in time to 1970. But.....Now, what a root and branch transformation. Great staff, great service, happy environment, with great value and all this in a clean well kept building and golf course (P&P). I wish nothing but good things for the new team. Great job. Will be back.

We 4 played the red course with two non golfers on a damp morning and had an enjoyable hour and a half for 23.50 (one senior with us!)

No sand or water hazards but the long grass on the "fairways" is certainly challenging if you don't land on the green and even more so for an errant shot into the rough.

Not a master's course but fun nonetheless

Lovely, helpful staff, great course. We especially liked the 8th hole, with the island shape! Fun, even in the rain

The most fun we’ve had for ages. Ok so the conditions weren’t Augusta but who cares.
There was a mushroom on one of the greens but it added to the fun of the game.
Back at the cafe, the lady who served us was so friendly and happy to help us.
A hilarious afternoon.

Whilst on a family weekend away on the IOW, we drove past the site of the former Brown's Golf Course expecting to see a neglected, forgotten wasteland. It was my understanding that the attraction had closed permanently at the back end of last year with the leaseholder having had enough and walked away.

Imagine my delight when we saw this was not the case, it was open and trading once more. Fantastic! I first played this course way back in 1992 at the age of fourteen, but the business has been there for generations and isn't short of history. So it was a tragedy for me when I read it was closed.

But its back!! Now being run by Kate Scandrett and her team, its definitely a work in progress as the new owners seek to restore the site to its full glory. While we played our round on a warm, sunny Sunday afternoon, there was plenty of hard work being put into the course, the facilities and the business as a whole. The staff on duty were really friendly and excited about their new project. All stopped what they were doing to have a chat.

Don't expect Wentworth or the Belfry standard....yet. Remember this is a course that's been left to rot until recently. But I have no doubt at all that given a little time it will be fully restored to its former glory. I'm so thrilled for them and for the Island that this little gem with all it's history has a future. Good luck to them and next time I go back to the IOW, I'll call in again.

Had a fun hour or so on the newly reopened pitch and putt course. So lovely to see this back open as it brings back memories of holidays past! Could do with a bit more mowing but understandable that it's taken a lot of work to get to this point. Such friendly staff who are so enthusiastic to build the business and with lots of ideas to bring in the punters. We wish them all the luck and will visit again to support them on their journey!!
