    A fab day out
Lovely staff. Was great to be able to choose an animal experience and feed and brush the Tapirs. Lovely indoor temperate area with Caymans, birds free to roam, fish, tortoises etc.

    A lovely day out!
A well run place for the family to visit. They have lots of different animals plus a wonderful soft play area too. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back.

Nice place but quite small and experience depends on how active the animals are.
Lovely little park but very small! Only takes up a few hours and very expensive for such a short amount of time. Experience entirely depends on how active the animals are (particularly Lemurs and wallaby's). Nice place but would be better if it were cheaper due to time it takes to see it all.

    Was really lovely
Was a lovely morning, got there at opening time 10am and spent 2 hours tops, staff lovely and friendly. The animals.are varied and very cute (I was gutted the giant Anteater was fast asleep tucked up away-love them! But not animals fault obviously) can get a return ticket within 7 days of purchase but not worth it as we weren't staying that long. My only gripe was the price £17.95 adult and £16.95 for child, for the size I feel it was a bit expensive especially for a child ticket. But it was a lovely morning! My partner loved the Lemurs, especially as one sat on he's neck and refused to get off & then tried taking his zipper off he's jacket lol

    Nice zoo and softplay
Ideal for younger kids as you can spend most of the day here if they are into soft play too as it’s a decent size. The wallaby walkabout was fantastic, being able to feed the wallaby’s was our favourite part, along with the rainforest walk. The cafe was alright too, jacket potatoes, sandwiches, standard meals for kids etc. The only annoyance was that only one person was selling tickets so we had to wait 30mins to get in, a waste of everyone’s time. In holiday time get another person selling tickets, or just update the tired website and let people book online and walk in with standard tickets.

Surprised us with selection of animals
After initially thinking we'd bought tickets to a garden centre we were pleasently surprised. The weather wasn't great, but that didn't make a difference - other than to the soft play which was typical feral family carnage (we were warned when arriving as those sort of animals don't like the rain). Loads of interesting animals and everything was close together so you could get around quickly. I'd recommend and would happily go again.

Nice small zoo, worth a visit
Very nice small zoo with a variety of animals to see. Enclosures looked well kept and appropriate. For £1 you can buy food to feed the fish and the wallabies (although when we went they weren’t hungry!). There’s a large indoor animal area so it was ideal for the drizzly day that we went on. The cafe offers a wide variety of delicious food at reasonable prices. There’s an indoor play area too although our group were too old for that.

    Lovely
A really lovely little zoo! If you’re expecting a huge zoo that would take a whole day to get around, this isn’t for you. However, if you’re happy with a smallish zoo that takes around 2-3 hours to get around, with helpful and informative staff and happy animals, this is perfect! On the whole, the animals seemed happy and content and all were active! The only exception to this was the macaws. I was saddened to see that their wings have been clipped to stop them flying away from their limited perches. I felt it would be much nicer to see them in a large custom built aviary where they could fly freely. Maybe that could be something people could walk through similar to the lemur walk? Other than that, I was happy to see how the other animals looked. The staff were very friendly and more than happy to answer our questions about the animals. Great food in the cafe too! It’s not large enough where you’d go back multiple times, but it is certainly worth a visit at least once.

    Poor& disappointing.
A bit tired, especially the bird house. I felt sorrY for some of the birds and the animals. Eating in the café was horrendous. It was not at all busy. We waited 45 minute 45 minutes after placing our order for a toasted sandwich and a Panini. Again, the place seemed very tired. Wasn’t worth the money. On the plus side, able to go back any point within seven days as a family could be useful, especially for raining, but not something that I would want to do. Inside the Amazon tropical house, it was all overgrown. Whilst I understand, it’s meant to replicate the Amazon there was a lot of dead foliage hanging over the footpath etc just didn’t feel like it was cared for it in anyway and it certainly wasn’t natural. it was heartbreaking to see the macaw have plucked all his feathers out, or her feathers out. It look like an oven ready turkey. it would have been nice if there was a sign to say please don’t worry this bird is unwell or being treated or something like that but there was nothing to indicate and there as a bird lover. I find it quite upsetting

I love this place so much, been every time we go to isle of wight. The animals are so much fun, my personal fave are the Flamingos. It's always a lot of fun to go and all the animals are great, I really recommend it.

I think some that come here miss the point!! It's a Zoo, i.e.: with animals. The model is to watch and educate oneself about animals. Those complaining about not enough to do or soft play, simply aren't grasping the clue in the title. These places tend to be charities with a prime objective to nurture, and look after animals so that we can experience their habitat.

Here they do that fairly well, the keepers were happy and available, knowledgeable about the animals and clearly focused on giving a good experience. The variety was really good with plenty of busy mammals going about their daily business.

Sure, its tired and a little worn, the soft play, is, well soft play!! One wonders why is it ever mentioned in feedback! Unless its a soft play park!

The food is poor, very low end produce and frankly far from recommendable, but it is what it is. If I want to go somewhere for lunch I'll do that too. But best to bring a picnic if visiting, there is plenty of space to enjoy that.

Value for money, I think anyone who comes to these places needs to engage with what the funds go towards i.e.: looking after the animals and paying the staff. Hence gauging good value isn't a priority. They offer the return in 7 days option, which actually we used to do the walk through option with the lemurs. The price was actually good in my view.

As for not having enough to do, if you just prefer to wonder round and not engage then this isn't perhaps for you. Go to the arcades on the coast. Zoo's need to be understood with patience and seen as education for children. And whilst this park has the playground and soft play, see these as extra's not to be judged.

We visited Amazon World whilst visiting some friends during the Easter Holidays. Whilst the kids ranging from 6-12yrs enjoyed the visit, I couldn't help but feel that as a family of 3 paying almost £55 it was a little on the pricey side for what is on offer. We arrived around lunchtime due to other commitments and stayed until around 4pm. I feel that without the option of soft play we'd have struggled to stay more than an hour or two just looking at the animals.
Ultimately the children were happy so it was a success, just not sure I'd return again.

Do not attend if you have a disabled child! Me, my husband and 2 children visited here today and we decided to go into the soft play/cafe. We ordered 2 coffees then my Autistic child proceeded to get a bag of crisps (his safe food) out of the backpack. The cafe did not sell the particular crisps he likes. One of the staff members (older lady) then came over and told us no food allowed. We then proceeded to tell her that our son was autistic and it was only 1 pack of crisps and that we had just bought 2 coffees. She then said he would have to eat them outside in the cold, we then said that our other child is playing in soft play so we can't leave him on his own, she then said that they should learn to eat together. Everyone else around us had pack lunches and it seems she only spoke to us about no food allowed. As a young family it seemed like she wanted to belittle us. No compassion for Sen children what so ever!

It's hugely over priced for what it is. If you don't have children, it doesn't take long to see all the animals that are there. A price of £16.95 for a child is far too much in my eyes, especially as you have to pay extra for any of the other experiences you want your child to do.

We had a lovely couple of hours here. Very clear route round so we weren’t worried about missing anything. The animals appeared active and happy. The environment and enclosures were lovely. We could easily see them all. The armadillos were a delight! Yes a bit pricy for non islanders with no children but there were lots for younger children to do and we were happy knowing our money was going to support these endangered species. We loved it!

Went here for a birthday. I remember being happy last time we went and it felt warm inside. This time it was really cold inside. It felt bare and miserable. The plants looked badly kept. The areas seemed dark and unkempt. There seemed to be less animals than there were. The highlights were the flamingoes and wallaby’s and red panda. A lot of areas had animals missing? Some areas bordered up. Toilets were out of order. Couldn’t see the ocelot and I’m sure they had lemurs and they used to have penguins. There was a couple of spots where there were small monkeys. We saw a sloth, meerkats. It all seemed quite cold and miserable. Little ones didn’t seem overly impressed. Maybe the weather didn’t help. It would help if there were staff there to give talks. The cafe was also closed. It all seemed a bit run down and sparse which is a real shame. The gifts aren’t overpriced in the gift shop which was good. Soft play was ok although the cafe there was closed as well apart from selling drinks and chocolate bars. Could be better, could be worse.

When we arrived the carpark was empty and the entrance was boring. We were worried we’d wasted £36! Under 2s are free though so that was good. It was drizzling, and the first few enclosures had no obvious animals (to be fair they were cold and wet too!). And then it got SO GOOD.

The wallaby feeding as fabulous (and free but for the £1 food) and the flamingo enclosure was wonderful. The sloths were all awake and the tropical bird section was truly magical. We were all so excited to see so many armadillos. They have made efforts to put windows on the sheds so we could see the capybaras hiding from the rain.

The soft play at the end wore out little one and the jacket spuds and coffee were good.

Turned a dull and miserable day in to a great one that we’ll always remember.

The animals have good enclosures and are clearly well kept. It was clean and the staff were lovely.

Would definitely return.

We live on the island and have visited here before but not for a while because we felt the price didn't really justify the experience and that many of the animals enclosures were not great. . However with the introduction of the islander card and cheaper price we gave it another go. Have to say we were pleasantly surprised. There are new areas since last time, particularly nice was the flamingo area. Improvements have been made to lots of the animals areas and there is more space for them. We liked the range of animals. There were plenty of staff around the animals and they are obviously loved and well cared for with signs of enrichment around.
Bonus is the soft play, especially if the weather is a bit iffy, however the hot drinks we had were not that great, cups only filled just above half way and not that great for the price.
I still feel some improvement could take place particularly in the inside area, the first bit you walk through i remember it being hot before however it was quite cold and hardly any birds or anything to see. The water in the pond was really dirty and we saw a dead fish. Also the armadillo area was very dark, I know this has something to do with the way they like to be kept but it meant they were very hard to see and what we did see were several of them pacing the same path, we went through a couple of times and they were still following the same path around and it just felt a bit like they needed more to do or things to be changed up a bit. This area is exactly how we remember it from years ago and it looked like nothing had changed since then. I also felt the red panda enclosure could do with an upgrade and maybe an inside are for them .
All I all a good day out much improved since last visit, we wouldn't pay the full price but would happily go again for the islander price which was £5 each at the time we went.

Look for a Garden Centre and drive along the side of the road and that will take you to the free car park for the zoo..If coming by bus the bus stop is right outside the Garden Centre..
I paid a senior price of £15.95 (Jan 2024 prices) ..
I followed the signs to the different animals and there are lots to see, I first went into the Reptiles area where there's all kind of Reptiles from a massive Boa to a Caymen Crocodile and spiders and lizards. Then I went to a bird sanctuary enclosure where the birds run free, I was followed by a lovely bird that just kept following me.
I then went round the zoo looking at other Animals and you can even get close up and feed some Wallibes if you wish. At different times of the day you can see the animals being fed..
Plenty of play areas for the kids and there's a cafe and gift shop..
All of the staff I met made me feel very welcome.
A great day out even in the winter..

This was the most beautiful hidden gem 💎. The zoo replicates the amazon jungle with beautiful trees and established jungle. The ringtailed lemurs are so cute and it was special to be so close to them eating. 💖 There are many beautiful animals birds reptiles and fish. Its a treasure chest of information and nature collections. The most fabulous place and it made my Christmas very memorable ❤️
