A favourite of ours, and definitely the best homemade cakes in Devon. Excellent service and very well run by a lovely family, who have made amazing use of the space they have. Love the new covered outdoor seating area. Beautifully made by the miller! Thank you.

Wow, this must be the best cream tea I have had in the West Country, it was yummy .

We stopped by at the end of August and although we probably should have booked, the kind owner let us in .

We had two cream teas at a cost of £10.80. This included one scone each, clotted cream and jam each and a pot of tea. It was absolutely delicious.

There is lots of information regarding the Mill and you can walk round the mill and watch the video regarding the processes to mill the flour which they do on site and use for the cakes.

I really wanted to see the bunnies being an animal lover but I think it was shut off. Nether the less I can’t wait to come back here in the future and sample such lovely food.

Thankyou Hele Corn Mill

Best cream teas in Devon bar none, relaxing atmosphere, and also really inspiring. We were warmly welcomed by David and he took the time to talk to us about the history of the mill and how it works. Another nice touch is the movie room in the barn next door, which gives curious people like me answers to all of my questions! Looking forward to coming back for lunch soon.

Fantastic place, a hidden oasis, where we had a cream tea, plain, currents or savoury. They are baking all day so fresh from the oven, superb and delicious. It also has the added bonus that the the 16th century Mill that grinds the flour in the cakes and scones, is the view you have and open for a look round if you are interested. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. Very good with the kids offering puzzles for all to work out. We had a variety of scones and tea , all delicious. But the cakes and sandwiches also looked fantastic. I believe they catered for vegans and a variety of soy and other milks if requested. I would highly recommend this place and we intend to visit again this week before we go home

Amazing place, delicious cakes and cream teas, highly recommended. Booking advised at the moment due to high volume of visitors in the area. We were lucky enough to be staying at the cottage attached the the tearooms and had a wonderful week. Kathy and David are the perfect hosts and have created an amazing place here. David is very passionate and proud of his mill and very happy to let you have look around. A very special place.

We visited as a group of 7 and all ordered the afternoon tea. This comes with a choice of scones, sandwiches and cakes and was good value for the amount of food provided (we couldn’t finish!). The scones were absolutely delicious and the cakes to die for. They are clearly very busy, so would advise calling in advance. The owner clearly takes pride in his restaurant and was lovely to chat to.

As we were staying in Ilfracombe and for a change it was too hot to stay on the beech we found this little gem tucked away at the back of the resort
Not to everyone’s cup of tea although I will come to that in a little while
The corn mil is steeped in history and bygone time perfectly preserved as how people used to live and work
No charge is levied to look around the mill but the added benefit is that you can purchased a brilliant Devon cream tea which of course we did
The only dilemma is which goes on first the jam or cream
