Excellent day out at Watermouth Castle
We absolutely loved our day at Watermouth Castle. My 3 year old son had such a fun day, it was perfect for his age. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly (particularly Siobhan!), nothing was too much trouble. We would certainly recommend Watermouth Castle to both tourists and locals - there is so much to do!
Thank you for the 5 stars.

    Amazing place to visit.
Fantastic park with wonderful views, amazing photos opportunities. Easy, smooth and efficient entry. Plenty to see and do. Dogs made welcome and plenty of water stations for them. Staff are very friendly and approachable. Would definitely visit again as only managed to compete half of it. Good coustmer service and very honest with lost property. Very helpful and willing to help find lost good. Would deffinatly recommend.
Thank you for taking the time to review! We are glad you had a great time and look forward to seeing you again soon.

    Quirky!
What a quirky place, didn't know what to expect when booking but glad we went. You literally don't know what's around the next corner! We went with two mid-late teens and they enjoyed themselves, however all of the rides are aimed at very young children.
Thank you for your review, we are glad to hear you enjoyed your day.

    Great day
We took our 6 year old grandson here, great day had by all. I would say best for children under 10,as far as rides go, plus adults for the scenery, history and amusing elements such as the dungeons, old fairground games etc.. We spent 6 relaxing and entertaining hours here. Try and book the toboggan ride early though.
Thank you for taking the time to give us a lovely review and we look forward to seeing you in the future!

a great day full of buzz and excitement
Cant praise this place enough after returning from a fantastic day. The two grandchildren aged 7 and 5 felt so comfortable and happy. Admittedly the school holidays started today so there were very few queues and crowds. Whover designed this theme park had younger children in mind and provided similar rides to the large theme parks. My two grandchildren were a bit nervous about going to a large crowded theme park but this just fitted their interests. The staff were more than accommadating and guided us to the different areas. Dont think the full team of staff had started so some staff were on more than one ride duty. We had three and a half hours of fun as we chose the afternoon slot. Beautiful views and gardens too. Thank you for a lovely day and the children were buzzing. Met some lovely families who we kept meeting up with at the diferent zones. Tip :-Do take lots of coins like ten pence pieces and pennies etc for some of the individual games. Tip:-We arrived early and had a picnic first on the lawn at the front. Kids didnt ask for food straightaway .....lol
Thank you for your review, we are glad to hear you enjoyed your day.

    A Step into the Past
We visited Watermouth Castle to relive the nostalgia of my wife’s childhood, now with our 2 young boys. I wasn’t sure what to expect. What I discovered is a day out that time has passed by and was amazing fun. Seeing my wife reminisce about the attractions was great, especially when she collected a Gnome coin for the first time in 30 years! The boys loved the experiences, from the castle dungeons, the rides and slides to the old world arcades. The toboggan was great fun! Prebook to do this. The site is very hilly so expect a lot of walking up and down gradients. You will need lots of change for the arcades but there are plenty of change machines. This is a day out into the past. I compared it to if Disneyland ran out of money after 2 weeks construction but still opened…and it was so much fun! Do not expect pristine, clean lines and perfect displays, but that is what adds to the charm. Staff were always smiling, great with the children and really helpful. All in all this was a fun day out.

    Old Fashioned Fun
For nostalgia, I give this place a 5 star! It really is an amazing little place and is so well kept, I don't mean up to date o, all in working order and modern but it is clean and just a nice place to visit. I booked for myself, husband, brother & sister in law, niece & her partner, 5 year old, 2 year old & 2 week old. I had booked for the afternoon slot which was enough as we couldn't go through the house because of the pram/pushchair (sleeping baby & toddler). My husband and I were going to go through but decided against. The grounds themselves have barely changed in the last 30 years. The gnome village is so dated and the same with the rides but the kids do love the rides and are enough for the ages we went with, We have heard it has been taken over recently and hopefully they have the money to bring this place up to date and make it the great day out it really could be. It really has so much potential and I really wish them all the best. One amazing thing is I had booked for the toboggan run and had the money refunded as the weather was so poor.
Thank you for the 5 stars!

Great, varied family fun if you've got little ones
Visited with our 2 year old and nearly 5 year old. The boys loved everything! The 2p arcades, the working gnomes, the 'old fashioned' rides, the water-play areas, the playgrounds, the golf and the ice cream! We were here all day and it flew by. The boys are currently the perfect age; (I don't think they'll be particularly interested in a few years time).
Thank you for a wonderful review. We are happy to see you had a great time!

A luxury family holiday, with endless entertainment for all ages, welcoming, magical, memorable and unique.
The Team at Watermouth Castle were incredibly accommodating and friendly during our recent family stay at the Watermouth Castle Apartments. Check in was effortless. We found our apartment every bit as stately, clean, comfortable and impressive as it looked in the advert and it was wonderful that Watermouth even welcomed our little dachshund. Our children felt they were living part of a fairytale. Everywhere was kept immaculate, and all the facilities we used were truly excellent. This holiday was such a magical, unique and memorable experience for our whole family and one that we can’t recommend highly enough. So many things for families to do both on site at the Castle and in the nearby area, including enjoying the truly magical experience of the unique Watermouth Castle theme park with stunning botanical gardens, taking in the sights at the local stunning beaches, boutique shopping, seaside water sports and boating excursions plus much, much more.
Thank you for a great review! We hope to see you again soon!

    Quirky, but fun
Just home from a lovely stay in one of the apartments in Watermouth castle. The apartment had everything we needed and was really spacious. On site activities were plentiful, and included an outdoor and indoor pool, the tennis court, soft play, bar and restaurant. We also had entry to the theme park included in the package. We visited the theme park 3 times during our stay. Our group was kids: age 2 and 7, parents in their 30s and grandparents. We found the theme park to be dated, but fun, and the kids both really enjoyed it. The 7yr old loved the toboggans, but was also very happy on the gentler snail ride or seals. The 2 yr old loved the aeroplanes the most and actually had 7 goes back to back on one day since there was no queue. Below are some tips: * the toboggan ride books up days in advance. You need to book before you are there. It was great and was worth the money. * The rides don’t open until 11:30 - there are various things open before the rides such as: crazy golf, the maze, the adventure playground at the top, the cannon wars at the top of gnome land etc. we found the cannons today and they were great * The theme park is very steep and there are parts inaccessible to wheelchairs/scooters as a result * There are lots of 10 and 2p slot machines-bring change if you want to do these * There is no cash machine and no cash back on site * You start your trip at the castle doors and then the theme park is up a track at the back. Buggies aren’t allowed in the castle, and get moved by the staff to the track at the back ready for when you head to the theme park. * Theme park is dated in parts and suitable for kids under 9 but older kids would get bored I think. * It is a quirky place but I loved the nostalgia and the kids had a great time Will definitely return if we come back to this part of Devon again

Went on holiday and we went to visit watermouth castle for the first time. On the 11th of June, lovely area just outside of ilfracombe and they provide parking. On the entrance there was a quirky vehicle that blows bubbles, never seen one in my life and it was lovely, made me smile and my partner. Upon entering the castle it was a quirky, weird collection of old vintage stuff. Has old vintage arcade machines which was fantastic. Really has something for everyone. Outside area is really good with a maze, mini golf, small rides for kids. Great family day out. Make sure you bring plenty of 10,20ps and U will come across loads of vintage arcade machines which was my fave part of it.

I have been going to watermouth castle yearly ever since I can remember as a child, I'm now 33 and still love the place! New owners have brought it recently, and have poured a lot of money into it making it even better!

Museum, dungeon, victorian arcade machines, water show, gnome world, fair ground rides, animatronics, optical illusions, children's soft play, great food and drink, and that's just the stuff i can think of off the top of my head!

We went to Watermouth castle in the week before half term and it wasn`t too busy... It didn`t cost too much to go in but offered a lot for the money...

You essentially go through the ground floor and basement (if you want) of the castle and this has a lot of exhibits and interactive stuff which we loved.. The young lady who served us at the entrance was really friendly and explained a lot.

As we went through the castle we thought we`d be done and back in the car in about 1-2 hours... but as soon as you get outside the grounds are massive and full of stuff for kids to do... whilst there are somethings there for teenagers I think for 0-10 yr olds this has some fantastic things for kids to do....

We spend a good part of the day there and found the food was really nice in the cafe just outside the castle and just before the park grounds... really good food... again all the staff were fantastic and given we thought this place maybe okay... we really enjoyed it and will go again next year.. Again for teenagers there is stuff there but is more suited to younger kids.

High praise from the children . I personally didn’t go as I was at work (non pupil day) so my husband took the children . Both children came home saying it was really good , my daughter said there could be more rides but I think that’s probably because we went to the big sheep last week so she’s having rollercoaster withdrawal!
The kids said there was a snake slide that was really fun . Apparently the play park was really good.
Everyone said they would go back again

Worth a visit.
We just went for the afternoon but you could spend a day here. It has some weird and wonderful things there. A few small rides which the kids loved.
It is very hilly especially the one up to the toboggan run.
Would recommend a visit.
