We stayed in the area for a weekend and came across the statue while out walking. It's worth taking some time to sit on the benches and have good look at the statue, and reading about it's origin on the boards provided. If nothing else...More

The modern statue is quite a beacon in this picturesque little harbour. I would think it is quite controversial and not to everyone’s taste.

Don't know that this is an asset to Ilfracombe!? Strange, without doubt. You would have to make up your own mind. Personally think the harbour itself is a big enough attraction.

This statue is extremely impressive and has become a destination in itself. It stands at the entrance to the harbour.
