Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Well worth the climb up the hill. Fantastic views all round. Lovely historic building - a place of worship and an interesting dwelling. Well- informed volunteer shared helpful information. Donations by lieu of entrance fee.

Worth the 5 min walk up to view Ilfracombe at a 360 point.
Great view of Damien Hirst Verity from here too.
Unfortunately closed during my out of season visit.

It was fascinating to discover this little house was one a home to 14 people! The lady caretaking the site was very friendly and knowledgeable. The views over Ilfracombe harbour are fantastic so it was well worth the climb.

The cost is free and this should give you some sort of indication of what to expect. There’s really nothing to see here.

The great views of the cost and harbour can be had from outside. Inside the building there’s a few bits of advertising about the place and a small gift shop. There’s a couple of floors to explore but it is very small and we found ourselves ready to leave after just a few minutes.

it was a lovely little chapel to learn a bit more about the area. Young kids would get quite bored but more older ones (age 6 onwards really) would probably like it. Beautiful, stunning views of ilfracombe harbour got some brill photos. Very relaxing looking / listening to the sea.

Nice little climb up from the harbour area to good views from the top. It is apparently the oldest lighthouse in England, and given how convenient it is to get to, definitely worth a visit.

At summit of a steep hill overlooking the harbour and verity. Free to go in but small charity donation encouraged. Good views from the top.

If you can walk up the steep hill from the harbour, this is well worth a visit. Also great views from the top.

Walked up the hill with my 3 children to see the chapel and light house and the stunning views across the harbour and out to see. Quite steep but really accessible, did not take long at all, lovely little place and free to enter, worth it for the views, defo worth a trip.

Lovely Chapel with fantastic views all round. Set on a hill with a steep walk up and down. Information boards can be viewed half way up. A lot of information also in the small Chapel. A working lighthouse.
