Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Ilfracombe Harbour was a typical seaside port in Devon without a lot of character with an odd bronze, stainless steel and fibreglass statue of Verity, a pregnant woman that stands 20 metres high and looks over the Bristol Channel. Claimed to be a successful tourist attraction, it was interesting but added nothing to the tacky little port. There were better places along the coast.

First time visiting here whilst on holiday and we had a fab few hours. Walked along and saw Verity, enjoyed fish and chips, ice cream and a walk around the shops. Nice and clean place with minimal litter. We visited on a weekend so it was quite busy but not too busy. Toilets were fairly clean and had toilet roll but queues took a while. Some places charge for toilets so we were pleased to come across these ones. Visited a sweet shop on the way back to the car park that was very busy but reasonably priced
All in all we would definitely return here

There are shops that are empty and boarded up. You hardly see anyone having good time in this place.

A great little spot with some great crabbing areas for children. A lovely view from the harbour and quite a bit to see, there is an aquarium, some shops selling souvenirs, ice cream pasties, leather and sheepskin items. The RLNI have a good stock of items and the staff are very friendly.
We had a lovely afternoon here.

Not even a 1 it was terrible dirty and run down. Shop closed and empty. Will not be going there again. It was such a shame because years ago it was beautiful.

Beautiful harbour and Coast line. Typical British harbour village in some ways. Plenty of parking about and quite a few different places to eat etc, although some don't open until the evening.

Very very busy, dogs on the beaches running around and barking, generally not very clean, a fun fair, grafitti in many of the shelters, a rather depressing main street and to be avoided if you are seeking tranquility in nature.
