The mythical west Wales tour.

On this tour you are accompanied by a historian with a deep passion and knowledge of Wales. You will learn some Welsh, sample traditional Welsh food and learn about the ancient history and culture of Wales. Gareth, your guide is a fluent Welsh speaker and he will give you an insight into Wales that wouldn't be available with a standard tour operator.
The area we will visit is dotted with quaint old towns and picturesque villages which seem untouched by time. The South West is the home of Pembrokeshire coast national park, and is an area renowned for the beauty of its beaches and coastline. For the lovers of castles there many to discover with Carreg Cennen, Pembroke and Kidwelly being three of the most impressive.
An example of a tour could be a visit to the wonderfully preserved Norman Castle at Pembroke, then lunch in the beautiful medieval port of Tenby followed by a stop off in Laugharne, the former home of the poet Dylan Thomas.

We visited just before lockdown as an educational group and I'm embarrassed that I had not visited before as there is a wealth of local information available here about the fascinating growth of Tenby over the years. I must admit to also giving this particular review at this time having just read the previous 1* review which beggers belief. Do some people not realise that there has been a pandemic in 2020?! Everyone should plan ahead this year and double and triple check that ANY attraction or venue that they wish to attend is actually open this year. To not do so as was clearly the case with the previous reviewers is to show true ineptitude.

We're very sorry you have been disappointed. 'Coast to Coast' was printed in early 2020 and sadly events have overtaken us. Due to Covid-19 we have not been able to open the Museum since March and all our staff are currently working from home. We have tried to keep everyone up to date with postings on our website, www.tenbymuseum.org.uk, and on Facebook,https://www.facebook.com/tenbymuseumandartgallery where our Curator has posted daily images and stories about items in our extensive collection. We hope you will visit Tenby again in 2021 when we will plan to re-open and look forward to welcoming you

Visited the small museum, packed with information and very interesting exhibits. £5.00 entry but ticket lasts for one year so can return if visiting again. Pleasant afternoon. Things for kids to interact with and dress up. Worth a visit.

Called into the museum on a rainy day. Pleasantly surprised by the numerous interesting galleries. Something for everyone. Entry fee allows unlimited entry for 1 year.

We decided to visit the museum as there was an art exhibition on that day. After waiting at reception for ten minutes for a member of staff to serve us, we were finally granted access to the museum and art exhibition. Some of the museum pieces were interesting, but other exhibits seemed to have been placed purely as a space filler. The admission price of £4.95 per person was in my opinion too expensive. You can use your ticket to return whenever you want over the course of 12 months, but there would have to be something extremely interesting for me to want to return again during that time period. Whilst walking around the museum, I had some great ideas on how it could be better. This place has the potential to be a little gold mine.

Good morning, I'm sorry you had to wait so long at reception - our 'buzzer' has failed due to the bad weather and our staff must have been busy working in the archive. Again, apologies. We try to focus on the objects and stories relevant to Tenby and the surrounding area and believe that they are a cohesive collection - I do hope you got to see the exhibition 'Forged in Wales;, on 5 film stars who came from Wales - it is unique! We'd love to hear your ideas...we're always open to suggestions as to how we can please and delight our visitors. Perhaps you could email us - tenbymuseum@gmail.com and if you follow us on Facebook you'll see what other events, displays and exhibitions are coming up. Thanks for your comments
