Long but very pleasant Victorian pier that is very nice to walk along whatever the season. There is a train that runs along for those that get tired to walk back. (But it's worth the walk). Has a cafe and classic old arcade at the top end of the pier.

If in southport it’s a must to walk along this incredible pier. It was very windy when we did the walk but you could always catch the little train either single or return ride.

A lovely bracing winter walk along thus splendid Victorian pier with family was great fun. And when you get to the end there's water under the pier and a brilliant retro slots arcade.
It's not as long as it looks and it was well worth the effort !

Good views, on clear day you can see Blackpool, there's a mini train if you don't fancy the walk.
Old penny arcade at the end of the pier, but the adjacent cafe is very expensive.
Also very little shelter if you are walking and get caught in the rain.

Weather wet and windy perfect for us Lovely walk down the pier, too far someone says 🤔 certainly not, nice walk to look out to sea and have a coffee at the end then a walk back.

This is a lovely pier to walk down , for couples, families, and kids, takes about 10 minutes to walk, during season times there's a miniature railway with little carriages for all who wants to enjoy a ride down the pier , £3 roughly for a ride on the train
When you get the end of the pier there's a large indoor cafe and small arcade with old iconic slot machines from the past still playable, you can sit down and watch the tide come in or out

Lovely long walk along the Pier, there's a little train you can catch which goes up and down the pier (ideal in the summer for little legs!) The cafe at the end of the pier was welcoming and reasonably priced with friendly staff.

I was looking forward to walking to the end of the Pier. It was shut and we could not use it!
Southport is a nice place to visit. Especially liked The Atkinson museum with it's history of Southport and the Egyptian exhibition. Also enjoyed the Captain Pugwash and Mary, Mungo and Midge exhibits.
They have an historic cast iron and glass canopy all along Lord Street in front of the shops. They are letting it go as glass panels are mising and rain water is gushing through the cracks.
I would go back to Southport and could recommend it as a good day out.
