This is in a really excellent location. We did a Summer walk with Beavers and they thorouhly enjoyed the creativity -making pics of the locality and using the charts to check the species of birds. Short walk and plenty to see and do.

What could be better? I love seeing birds but I am really not fit enough to go trekking for miles to get into the middle of nowhere. Well here you simply pull into the lay-by to park (free) and use the crossing to cross a very busy road. Then, right there with traffic constantly trundling past just a few feet... More

As a regular visitor to the marshland at Southport's Marshside RSPB reserve, it was good to see the annual Spring return of cattle to the marsh as well as it's summer resident the Llama. Usually seen standing on an mound surveying the wildlife and cattle on it's domain, Spot the Llama is a favourite pastime of our two young granddaughters.... More

Visited on Sunday am, on an organised RSPB event, to watch the birds flying in on a spring high tide. Very well led by the local warden, we had super views of grey plover, dunlin, meadow pippits and skylarks, with an added bonus of 3 eiders just off the shore. Then we went into the reserve to look at 2... More

This is a fabulous place for watching sea birds especially at this time of year. If you take notes take a thick pad and a spare pen

This reserve is perhaps a bit misadvertised on the RSPB website - advertised as having a free car park and visitor's centre, we drove past it three times expecting to see the clear signage and visitors centre we see when we go to other similarly advertised RSPB reserves. But Marshside is more like the smaller reserves - no 'entry' point... More
