About
Southport's home to the fun all weather water park Dunes Splash World. Kept at a constant 84 degrees Fahrenheit it's the ideal place to visit no matter what the weather's like outside. With fast flumes and river rides, a relaxing bubble spa and a brand new, recently refurbished toddler area and water play area including tipping buckets and fountains so there's gallons of watery fun for everyone! There's a poolside cafe as well so after you've worked up an appetite pop in for some refreshments. Splash World forms part of the Dunes Splash World complex. As well as the leisure pool there is another 25 metre main pool, a toddler pool, a sauna cabin and steam suite and large sports hall. There is also a fantastic Fitness Suite with a massive range of state-of-the-art equipment and an activity studio with a wide and varied class programme. We are ideally located close to the park and ride, 10 minutes walk from the train station with good rail networks to Manchester and Liverpool/Chester. Close to the picturesque Lord Street, minutes walk from the beach and various other attractions, whether you come to Southport for the day or a short break, be sure to visit Splash World with family. Opening Hours: Term time: Mon-Fri Closed Sat & Sun 10:00 - 16:00 Splash World is open through school holidays. Check the website for details.

Not as good as the picture makes out
Nov 2019
This was enjoyable for some part. But you get people firing water cannons at you and seem a bit ridiculous. Teens and adults would hit you with a water cannon even tho I was holding a baby a couple of months old. Total disregard and silliness that this wasn't being monitored by the staff. There is also a few parts hidden (behind the tower) where you cannot see your child playing so your not sure if they are safe. No lifeguard is watching over these blind spots either and it's a little worrying at times.

The kids enjoyed it
Oct 2019
Expensive, and the changing rooms are - at times - dirty and smelly, with some lockers not working.
It is expensive but I imagine it costs a lot to run.
Spectator fee should be abolished - parents pay enough for the kids to partake! Too much chlorine means sore eyes and dry faces. But the kids enjoyed it

Toddler fun!
Sep 2019 • Family
I decided to take my 1 year old water baby here on a rainy day. She absolutely loved the toddler part, kept her entertained and the smile and giggles we were getting from her were just amazing to see. There were slides, interactive water features and it was very shallow so she could toddle around. We spent all our time in this part of the pool so can't comment on the main pool. Reason I haven't given 5 stars is the changing rooms were quite grubby with only 1 family changing facility and I feel entry cost was quite expensive for 90 minutes. You do get a refund for the carpark though which is good. I would return in the future.

Very very poor.

We came with two young children and I have to say I will never ever return. I totally understand it is not the facilities fault that travellers where on the car park but whilst queuing we witnessed very young children/baby’s just wondering around the car park naked and unattended, running throughout reception and the adults demanding to be let in for showers, a totally uncomfortable experience to begin with. The place is absolutely filthy, I cringed having to walk on the floor in the changing rooms, and the toilets where possibly the worst I’ve ever seen. My children had wanted to come and my youngest son who has additional needs would have had a complete meltdown had we turned around and left so we headed in to the pool area. There where scum marks around the sides of the pool through the rapids and the flooring at the children play area was crumbling apart, with what looked like human excrement in one area. The lifeguards seemed friendly enough but honestly the whole place is an over priced slum. For the price of this place we could have swam on four different occasions as a family of four in our local brand new swimming complex which is absolutely immaculate. Avoid like the plague.

Not Up To Scratch.....
Aug 2019 • Family
So it was the 6 week holidays so I took my daughter to Splashworld for a fun couple of hours.

We got there before it opened, queued up, paid (staff on the till's never seem happy), walked into the 'clean' changing rooms for it to smell of fish, oh my goodness the smell was horrendous, aren't they cleaned daily after visitors have gone......I didn't understand how it could smell so bad. After that we put our things in the lockers, went over to the mirrors to tie our hair up just to hear to members of staff swearing round the corner which is 100% not acceptable. They were having a conversation with each other but every other word seemed to be F this and F that which my child and me should not have to hear (this was reported to the main reception).

As for the rest of the visit it went well, the lifeguards were lovely on the slide rides and your chap at the main reception was very lovely too.

FOOD......
We didn't eat there on this visit but there is a cafe which sell's drinks, cakes, meals etc. We have eaten there before and we did end up with dodgy stomachs so decided to eat elsewhere on this occasion.

All in all it was a good day.

Not happy
Aug 2019 • Family
Been before, so came back today took my 2 children (5 and 6) small for their ages. Was busier than usual which is expected for been a bank holiday, also come with my niece and nephew the ques for the slides was a little longer, got to the top after waiting our turn and up run 4 gypsy boys past us I said excuse me we are next, to then they replied we want the fast slide not the family so I said okay (majority of people was queing for the family one), my children asked how are they allowed to go straight on, then I told the guy at the top who was working there he didnt really reply then it was our turn on the family one to which the worker replied oh hang on they want to race and the gypsy boys used both fast and family slide so my children got upset, I said to the lad working that's not very fair weve been queing got small children waiting for a go to his reply we have to let them do what they want 😯... not very happy with today's experience and for the staff to not really do nothink about it!

Totally overpriced place and for the price you would think that lockers and even walls would be clean. Not much to do tbh if u cant swim dont bother goin... unlike other parks this doesnt cater for non swimmers. Plus you have to pay for the car park and £5 if u just want to watch totall rip off

was difficult to find
Aug 2019
Had a very good day hear, we travled from Liverpool where were staying, the boy loved it, so it was worth the drive, you pay to park but they do refund this when you buy a ticket, it appeared pricey for only 90 min, but to be fair it was fun. The changing room floor needed to be cleaned, changing was ok, plenty of staff making sure kids were safe. I would go back.

Was a little surprised that it closed at 4pm during the summer hols.

Bit overpriced for 90 minutes but enjoyed ourselves!
Doughnut slides were fun and kids enjoyed it.
Then you have 2 other slides that you don’t sit on anything ones a family slide and one for the more daring people! All good but as I say it’s bit overpriced
