- GillLiverpool, United Kingdom1 contributionBest pantomime ever!First time at this theatre but it certainly won't be our last. Beautiful Theatre. We went to see Aladdin and we didn't stop laughing throughout! Best pantomime I have been to and have been to many! Thank you for a great night. We will be back for the panto next year!Visited December 2022Travelled with familyWritten 13 December 2022
- claudiaWirralChester, United Kingdom219 contributionsAwful flashing distractionsWent to see Aladdin. Beautiful theatre, good seating and views. Only downside is that there were people in front of us with electronic flashing head ware and their kids had hand-held flashing windmill-like things. To have to try and enjoy something with a constant psychedelic flashing for the whole event is awful and there were lots of these bits of tat throughout the audience. Why does The Atkinson permit these items which ruin others’ enjoyment? For ages after all I could see were flashes, really inconsiderate.Visited December 2022Travelled as a coupleWritten 15 December 2022
- Joyce W3 contributionsPantoWent to see Aladdin with my 2 daughters & granddaughters. The staff were very helpful & it was a lovely theatre. I found the pantomime not as professional as other past year's. The jokes would have gone totally over the childrens head and quite rude. The dancers where very good and seemed more enthusiastic than the main characters. And as for "Patsy Kensit" of stage & screen!!! Well I could have put more enthusiasm into the part and I am 70 and probably cost you a lot less to do it. Fingers crossed for next year .Visited December 2022Written 29 December 2022
- gabrielle h7 contributionsGreat panto experienceGreat visit to the Aladdin panto on 31st December 2022. Took all the family and we all enjoyed the show and the theatre. I booked gift bags for the kids. A light up toy, sweets and a drink- the kids loved them. Easy to pick up. A super evening.Visited December 2022Written 1 January 2023
- Ann Marie R2 contributionsThank you 🥰Lovely theatre brilliant panto we all loved Aladdin and Patsy Kensit was fab. Such a happy evening the staff create welcoming atmosphere and it’s a great size for a theatre…not too big. Walking out on Lord street felt magical the tree in front of theatre is amazing. What a lovely memory🥰. Looking forward to next year already pantos make the world a happy place. Thank you all xxVisited December 2022Travelled with familyWritten 1 January 2023
- Diane_ainsFormby, United Kingdom48 contributionsBrilliant pantoOur first vist certainly won't be our last. A lovely theatre we went to the Christmas pantomime Aladdin you feel up close and part of the show. Not the biggest theatre we have been to I think this is why we enjoyed it so much. Very accessible just a short walk from Southport train station. Reasonably priced tickets. Family tickets good value. Sold ice cream, drinks etc during intermission. Ice cream £2 quite good as slightly larger tubs that other theatres we've been to. We will definitely return. Thank you all for a great night and a fantastic, funny well scripted pantomime.Visited December 2022Travelled as a coupleWritten 2 January 2023
- A Jones1 contributionSnow White PantomimeI took my granddaughter to the panto, Snow White, at the weekend. It was her first experience and for 3 hours she was mesmerised by the show. She used the booster seats available and loved the goody bag provided. Facilities were excellent and queues were minimum for refreshments during the break. All in all it was a really lovely afternoon with precious memories made. Excellent production thank you.Visited January 2023Travelled with familyWritten 16 January 2023
- Trish c2 contributionsSnow White family pantoWent to the panto for the first time. Took our four year old granddaughter! We all loved it! Best one I’ve ever been to. Will be back next year. Excellent that theatre has kept bar prices down too for snacks and drinks. Makes a change not to feel you are being ripped off. Well done!!!Visited January 2023Travelled with familyWritten 24 January 2023
- Helen B1 contribution“Snow White Panto” January 2023What an excellent performance! We went to the first night and thoroughly enjoyed it. There are definitely some very talented people from our local community. Lots of audience participation also. We used to go to the professional performances with ‘stars’ in, but much prefer the amateur dramatics Pantomimes. My auntie and uncle went to the last performance and said it was fantastic also. Well done again everyone. We look forward to next years performance and totally appreciate the time and effort you all put in to the months of practice, before the two weeks of performances, it can’t be easy juggling it along with your normal work and family life. Thank you x The Atkinson itself is a beautiful period building with very good facilities and friendly staff.Visited January 2023Written 24 January 2023

Attending "The Fairy-tale of New York", I expected a Pogues related show. What transpired was a saccharine mish mash of Irish stereotypes and modern Christmas tunes. Some of the dancing was excellent, as was the woman singer and the violinist. However, most of the rest was dreadful. The evening was not helped by being surrounded by a group of eight who talked incessantly and, when asked politely to be quiet, made more noise than ever. We left early. Moral of the story - research your subject!

I'm sorry, but I don't know. We only went into the museum and not the theatre. Give them a quick ring or look on their website.
I hope this has been helpful x
