I took my daughter to see the statue both because of the significance of the battle and because her great-grandpa worked on the statue when it was cast back in the early 1960s. The intricate detailing of the bronze is well worth seeing.

I had no idea that I would be so close to anything as interesting. Had no knowledge about the Battle of Bannockburn or Robert the Bruce. Having spent two days in the area, I was well impressed by the park that surrounded the statue, the...More

Stopped off here en route to Stirling and found it very interesting. The information boards tell the history of the scottish / English battle in a concise, easy to understand format. Well worth a visit.

It’s a big grazed area very popular with dog walkers, nice to visit in the better weather. Watch out for the dog poop.

This is a very impressive statue of Robert the Bruce on his war horse by Pilkington Jackson. And you get good views of Stirling Castle from this viewpoint. The Bannockburn centre is definitely worth visiting as is the statue of Robert the Bruce, an amazing...More

This is not a destination in and of itself, but if you are in Stirling it is definitely worth a stop to see the great meadows where the famous battle took place and this striking monument is right there to be quickly admired.

Very impressive. I would not go to Stirling just to see this - the Stirling Castle is quite rightly the main attraction (with the Wallace Monument an important second). But if you are nearby, you might want to stop briefly to view this.
