Very nice castle, a lot of exhibitions to see, long Scottish history to learn. Also the views from the castle are great. I really enjoyed my time here, even despite of bad weather.

Haven’t been to this castle for over 30 years, still a great place for for a day out, great if you read a bit about its history before you visit, then let your imagination do the rest once you are there.

Yes, you need cash. There is plenty of parking, but arrive early to avoid crowds

This post is politically motivated because Nationalist independence supporters weren’t allowed to gather on the castle esplanade as per HES regulations.
