The monument is up a hill and has a free bus service to take visitors to it from the reception area. It's an impressive building. There are 246 steps in the monument and it has a spiral staircase - but the good news is there are breaks between them with four levels to visit that are full of history and... More

It's an outstanding sight from many parts of the city and a major attraction. Really impressive as you approach it. A pleasure to look at from the outside. As to the museum inside, I was not overly impressed, I guess I was expecting something different. It felt like the exposition didn't necessarily belong there.

Hi crukkh, thank-you for your feedback. It is great to hear that you were impressed by the architecture of the building! Of course we were sorry to hear that the exhibition galleries inside the Monument were not what you were expecting, the three galleries focus on the life and legacy of William Wallace. More

Drove from Glasgow with my partner and when we arrived we were not disappointed. What a view? Nice place for our day trip. We had a good day out. This was very interesting attraction and we will be back.

It's hard to miss the monument i guess considering it and the Castle hog the landscape. Walking up to see the Monument or getting the bus from the bottom is well worth doing to see the views even from the level of the entrance to the monument. However to appreciate it properly you really should pay the money and climb... More

... take the shuttle bus. The hike is fun though. Take a bag lunch. Enjoy the spiral stairs and scenery. Commanding view of the region!

It's hidden gem of Stirling. You can see it as soon as you go out of train station. Just follow where you see it and you can easily access it.

The second must visit monument in sterling is this one. The climb to the top of the hill is beautiful, especially when it is not raining and bright. Once on the top the view is Spectacular. Worth a visit. Going to the top of the monument has a charge of 10 quid, but worth it as well.

This was a very interesting attraction. And the views from the top were over the top! But, be careful. The sign at the top says to stay off the road and take the path down. Unless you have an hour to kill, and maybe a GPS, don't take the path.

We visited this attraction and enjoyed ourselves. However if you don't like heights don't waste money don't go. If you have trouble walking or climbing stairs don't go you won't be able to get to any exhibits. I understand that they are working with a very old building that wasn't designed for any one else other than able bodied. The... More
