It is great to understand some of the ancient history of this place especially with the help of the very knowledgeable guides. Doesn't take long and is included in the price of visiting Stirling Castle

Not a huge property but well worth visiting for the setting. They have tried to recreate the interior furnishings from the period the building was finished. It takes at least 30 minutes to walk around and view and there are also some guided tours. The House doesn't open until 12:45 and if you can't do the castle and the house... More

It's very close to the castle and it's the more discreet refuge by comparison. You can't see the castle without seeing this though. It's an important piece to getting a full picture of the Scottish kingdom in its day. One of the best trips I've been on and it's very central to Scottish culture. The tour guides were excellent too... More

After seeing Stirling Castle, be sure to visit this attractive two story historic townhouse dating from the 17th century which has been restored to a modest elegance with period furnishings and good displays. Admission and guided house tour are free with admission to the Castle. The Lodge is located on the right side of the street as you approach the... More

Interesting enough house to visit but it only seems that half the house is open so you seem short changed.

If you have a ticket for Stirling Castle this house is free to visit, and worth taking half an hour to look around.

We really enjoyed exploring this place. It was not crowded like the castle was so it was easier to explore and enjoy the sights and history of the place. It was a short walk down the main road from the castle.

Medieval house near Stirling Castle - ticket for the castle gets you in free. Had been a hospital since the 1800's then a military hospital followed by being a youth hostel since 1964. Taken over by historic Scotland as it was realised it was an early gem of a house. Upstairs uncovered early decoration interesting. Sparsely furnished but that is... More
