About
The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders Regimental Museum tells the history of the Regiment from its early formation as the 91st Argyllshire Highlanders and 93rd Sutherland Highlanders to the present day. It holds objects and archives which trace the history of the Regiment and those who served in it. The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders Regimental Museum, based within Stirling Castle, reopened after an extensive transformation project in June 2021. Access to the Museum is included in your Stirling Castle entry ticket. Please note that some areas may be unavailable or limited in capacity due to ongoing restrictions.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The museum is wonderful with very nice helpful staff and an amazing display of Argyll & Sutherland Highlander historical artifacts . There are also a series of Winter Lectures covering a wide range of topics delivered in a very professional way by a range of guest lecturers and former senior officers at the museum colours room , full marks to everyone who is involved its a very unique experience attending these events

The museum was very well done and provided great insight into this historical Highland Regiment. Exhibits laid out well with informative text. The museum is quite extensive covering 3 floors so plan accordingly! As two of my great uncles served in this regiment during WWI, I thought it really helped me connect with what they did and the pride they had in this regiment.

The museum is in Stirling Castle and well worth visiting.
This is our second visit to the Castle as our son lives there.
The museum is well laid out and it really depends on how much time you have as a visitor as to how long you spend reading the information.. I love History and could easily have spent an hour or two just working my way round all the exhibits.
I particularly liked the photographs many of which illustrated the hardship and dedication of the soldiers and their families.

We've been to regimental museums before so hadn't necessarily expected to spend that long here. However this was very well presented with personal stories associated with lots of the display which really made it come alive.

Don't miss this little museum within Stirling Castle - it's fascinating and the staff (veterans) are very helpful in explaining the exhibitions / history and giving their own insight into the recent history.
The museum is well presented.

Well worth taking a little extra time to visit this museum which is within the castle walls. Extending over several floors it is very well presented and the guides are very knowledgeable.

Loved this part of Stirling Castle, well laid out Regimental Museum with varied and interesting exhibits. Got some information from Jim who had formerly served and his insight was fascinating and actually the high point of our visit. Can't recommend this highly enough.

Hi there, at the moment our family research service is suspended due to the redevelopment of The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders Museum. Keep an eye on our social media pages and website, as this will be the first place it's advertised once we re-launch!
